Congrats to "GoCards"!
Just wanted to say congratulations to fellow JoeDios member "GoCards" on the St. Louis Cardinals winning the World Series a few minutes ago! I think this time it's extra special!
:) |
Thank You! It was extra special. Game 6 was a World Series itself. Now, time to go out and spend my hard earned money on some World Series clothes!
Hats off to the Rangers and their fans, they put up one Hell of a fight. |
Even though I'm from Chi-Town, congrats to the Cards. :)
|
As a Brewers fan, this is the hardest thing I have typed on a long while.
Congrats! I dislike the Cardinals, but I love their fans, and I'm happy for them. They are the same as my Packers last year, win every game they had to win, catch a few breaks, sneak into the playoffs, and then bring down the hammer on everyone. Well done! And GoCards, you are a graceful gentleman. All my best wishes from Wisconsin! |
Interesting....
M1 General is from the 2nd City? The home of my beloved Bulls & Bears?? And speaking of my Bears - Yorktown Joe - you got us last year (twice!), but I didn't know you were from Wisconsin! The home of Gordon Gano & Brian Ritchie! Do you happen to know a Jessie Stibb from Fon Du Lac, WI? |

Yes sir! Born and raised for 30+ years. :p |

Color me green! Wish I could see Rose, Noah, and Gibson in person now & then! Bill Murray's from Chi-town too isn't he? Man - what a cool place to hail from! Bulls - 91,92,93,96,97, & 98 Bears - 85 White Sox - 2005 Blackhawks - 2010 9 titles in your lifetime so far - good time to come up! :) |
Congrats- Now let's go Bills and Sabres. We Buffalonians have had nothing- ever. :D

Yeah, still waiting for the Cubs (1908)! |

No, can't say that I know anyone from Fon du Lac. I lived in Clearwater FL (but we moved to Mpls when I was in kindergarten). So I grew up the Twin Citiies. Then I lived in Watertown (b/t Madison and Milwaukee) and De Forest (Madison suburb) and now in Green Bay. Chicago is a nice city and so is Mpls, but I think I'm staying in quiet little titletown. |

I visited Buffalo its an awesome town, here's one for you Ace Go Bills! :D |

Yeah, I figured it was a long-shot, but I don't meet that many people from WI, so thought I'd ask :-) |

I actually went out to see a Bears Vs. Bills game at Ralph Wilson in about 1991 or so (Bears lost) back when they had Jim Harbaugh at QB and Neal Anderson at RB. They have world-renowned chicken wings I've heard. |
The Bills and Lions are tearing it up this year. I'd look for both of them to see some good times in the playoffs.
As for your avatar pic: I enjoyed Walter Payton back in the day. Consummate gentleman, professional and exceptional in all he did. We really need more men like him in the world. |
Quote:
Agreed! He died 12 years ago today at only 45. :( |

Thanks again for those nice (true) things that you said about Walter yesterday! I really looked up to him as I know many others did/do also. And I agree, if more men were like him in the world today, it would be a much better place for all of us. It's rare that such a super guy is also such an elite athelete, usually if you're LUCKY, your one or the other - he was both! Thanks again! :) |

Thanks bud, High Five /\ *smack :D |

Just making the playoffs would be epic for us! |
