All new MODERN 25th- POC Command and Control Center
You've asked for a proper Command center worth of being called the PIT, and I wanted to bring elements of the entire modern line (Agent Trakker, The Adventure team, etc.) I present for your approval, The all new, G.I.JOE MODERN 25th-POC Command and Control Center. (I'm still working on the floor pieces and runway/helipad, but you can see the sheer scale in the pics).

it very awesome what your doing with these templates I'm still working on the Iron man chamber but have a hard time with hunting good textures for it |
Very nice piece of work. I like the many different chambers in it.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I put a lot of planning into this and the best part is if you build more than one you can connect them and expand your environment.
I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I enjoy making them for you. Thanks again. |
It's looking very nice indeed.

dude, this rocks

And yes...for those who've asked, if you build more than one and don't use the helipad/runway, they are indeed modular. ( I only took this pic to show it can be done, but you would have to modify a few things, but it does work) If I left it like this I'd brace the walls a little more though. Personally I like building them out beside one another, but if you want to build upwards this shows you can.

Upwards and out would be my style. This is way cool.

First of all, great stuff- let me ask though, are you going to a Kinko's or something similar to print those on cardboard that size? Or are you printing the pictures and applying them to large cardboard pieces? Very interested in your methods on this, and again great work!

Thanks for your interest, the method for these had a lot of trial and error, the end result was me programming my print program to be able to make these in different scales. I can use the same template and build these for 12 inch Joe collectors, as well as build these for 8 inch mego & sigma 6 figures, and 2.5 inch sigma and M.A.S.K. scales. The professional materials I use and method for the deluxe sets are printed on a plastic material and coated over in clear vinyl, (I did the professional copies for my club's exclusive as it was expensive). My goal in the end was to bring my creations to the masses, using common materials that anyone who prints can easily find and afford. But I will stress, that results can and will vary depending on your printer, and if you want a more sturdy Command center I'd rec. that you use foamcore, styrene, or even cardboard for the "skeleton" or "FRAME" then simply apply the images over the frame. and if you are going to stack one on top of the other you do not need the Runway/airstrip, unless you resize it for the larger structure.
I thank you for your continued interest, and know that I always like to hear your feedback. |
Maybe someday I'll find time and build me one of these great sets you posted here. The original playsets go for a lot of money here in Brasil. Even with the increasing prices of printing it is still cheaper =).
Thanks. |
Thanks for the comments guys, and the feedback.
