Don't be. Practice makes perfect and we all have our own unique styles. This is a great community, I'm sure everyone will give advice if you need it.

You've got some really cool stuff...take it out into your back yard and shoot the pictures. Load the stuff up into your car and go for a drive to someplace just outside of town and shott pictures.

tycondrius23 04-19-2010 10:26 AM

yeah all ya need to do is take time and patience and they're come right. as the others said you got some awesome stuff. I love those choppers . and that tank rocks

Sonneilon 04-19-2010 10:42 AM

You'll get there. Consider that you use decent figures, you can pose them well enough and you tend to have your stuff in focus. I think you're only problem is WHERE you shoot. ie; settings and backgrounds. It takes a certain creativity and I admit, I don't always have it. But things have changed a bit for me so I'm able to see cool spots in both nature and the city better now. I mean, I used to have a really good eye but it disappeared.

If it counts for anything, I've done 4 shoots in the last 4 days and I'm finding that I'm having to RELEARN how to frame a shot! Sure, I'm used to heavy cropping stuff from doing months indoors. Outdoors is like a different game.

Stick with it, you'll get there.

That reminds me, I once did a shot with Mindbender in a microwave, saying that it was his new torture chamber or something. I mean, talk about pathetic! lol

Not bad at all. Practice makes perfect. Look at my pictures over the past 3 years. They have gotten alot better mainly from reading this forum and taking all that advice in. I still don't think mine are on par with most the people here. But, when I post a pic, it is usually one of 20 or 30. I figure, the more I take the better i will get.
Just keep shooting. You can also join some of the Groups on flickr.com. there are alot of pros on there that will happily share advice. I have joined about 20 in the past 3 months.

dancontrino 04-19-2010 12:57 PM

Go through the old photos here and try and get ideas for indoor and outdoor shots. Your figures and vehicles are awesome, so just keep trying! You're better than me already, I'm the king of "flash" :D Keep trying and post no matter what!

General Scarlett 04-19-2010 01:47 PM

Actually, you don't.

All you need to do is practice. You've got a knack for set up and sense of action...you just have to work on lighting with alternate sources and pulling back when trying to focus......I stated as much when I commented on your latest pics.

Believe me Russ........you are WORLDS BETTER than some....... ;)

Agent Viper 04-19-2010 03:56 PM

Hey,
We all had to start some where.I wasn't that good at all when I started but with te help from the guys here, I got better. Some pic still don't turn out the way I want them to.

Most of all have fun.The more fun you are having,it will show in your pics. I was one of those guys that didn't want to be seen outside with my Joes. But I said frig it and now I go out any time when its nice out and have a photo shoot.

Like everyone said, you have really cool stuff.Just organize yourself and have pics in mind and work it to your liking.

Want to say thanks for the kind words and support. I'll keep trying. I live in the middle of downtown so there is littlle grass. I also suffer from seizures so I can't drive. But those are lame exuses For the little guy that asked the price of the M-48 it was about 39 dollars and still available at www.smalljoes.com. For Otter he can get an olive drab lav from the Forces of Valor collection in in1:35 scale. Google it also Otter in 1:18TH and you might find one. Look on Ebay under Ultimate soldier heading and it will display both 21st century and BBi toys The Lav is a BBI toy. Hope it helps. Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

General Scarlett 04-20-2010 08:24 AM

Hmmmmmmmm...........what about a window that has a 'scenery' look? If you can position the figures/vehicles in front of the window and use the background? Also, do you have the ability to crop your pics? That way you can cut out the frame (or whatever else is around)?
