It's not avatar the last air being but it is some James Cameron’s Sci Fi film where the Human military is the bag buys and invade a peaceful alien planet and up to sigourney weaver the botanist to save them.

Vehicles look cool but he movie sound so-so. i want the VTOL and The Mech

Wow!! The VTOL looks like a cross between the Dragonhawk, the USCM Dropship (Aliens) and the Apache... I like it!!

The Mech looks cool as well.

The other vehicle... hmm... seems like an unipersonal halftrack missile launcher... or something like that... like it too!.

The figures are not that great... at first look it appears the legs are similar to Terminator figures... but it seems the legs have side articulation similar to PTE, if so... then I might get some of the soldiers... if the price is right :)

From what I've seen at wikipedia, the toyline is coming out in November, and each figure will include a 3D tag that can be scanned with a webcam... hope that doesn't add to much to the price :/

Reminds me of the classic Maschinen Krieger series. To me it looks like a modern take on Ma.K -- Maschinen Krieger -- influenced by it.

those are pretty darn cool! Im hoping that movie "Area something or other" has mechs. It has one in one of the previews.

I saw some of those models when I was in San Francisco. There was a big graphic book about them also. Like I need another freakin hobby, Thanks Steve. lol

I a loveing that mech, I am loving that VTOL, Sadly I like these better than the Joe movie vehicles, I can't think of one of those I really want.

i want some of the vehicles. They do look nice.

I wonder if that flying thing with the propellors can be taken apart in such a way as to add the props to that new ROC cobra flying thing.. the one that everyone says needs props (the one that comes with firefly)

The Mech looks good. Very sci-fi designed toys, ideal for intergrating into elements of gijoe :) thanks for sharing these.

What are the estimated costs of them?

People have quietly been talking about James Cameron's Avatar for quite some time. I think a lot of people were bummed that it's not a live-action movie from said anime. What I see is a movie that will be competing with Sam Jackson's District 9. In the end, I rather like those funky mechy toys-y!

Avatar isn't an anime, it's an American cartoon.

And they ARE making a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie.

(for a movie based on a series based on Chinese mythology, it sure doesn't have a lot of asian actors)

technically it anime as the creator drew influence for such anime as ninja school and had it animated in South Korea. :) In some circle Gijoe and Transformers counts as anime as it was sent to japan for animations

Just because some people call Avatar, GIJoe and Transformers anime doesn't make it true.

Anime requires a Japanese production in its entirety. Writing staff, supervising staff, character designers, being made for marketing in Japan, etc.

GIJoe and Transformers were only ANIMATED by Toei (and ONLY animated! Things like character designs were still done in America) and Avatar was in its entirety an American production.
They are not anime in any sense of the word, they are just cartoons.

But if you're scanning with a webcam, a 2D barcode is what you'd use to encode some URL information, or the data about which figure/vehicle it is. So other than having to print some sort of paint pattern on the figure, the additional cost then is mainly in the website (though really it's not too hard to create a site that accepts the names of 2 figures/vehicles and then plays back some pre-generated content).

In any case the vehicles look cool, and nicely detailed, and the idea of being able to scan your figures/vehicles and access online content is also cool.

yea i hear that That Star Trek dvd will have the same web cam scan technology in it too
