And the news is....not good.

Well, after having all the tests done last week, I saw the specialist today, and the results are not good. The cancer has spread to my liver and possibly one lung, and is also encroaching on my kidneys. The tumor on the pelvic wall is apparently very large and inoperable at this stage. He told me it doesn't look very good at this point, and that unless they can remove everything surgically, which is not possible right now, then they will attempt to give me as long as they can at as good a quality of life as they can. My immediate future is to see another couple of specialists next week to decide if radiation treatment or chemotherapy will be any help. My wife and I were obviously hoping for better news, but we just have to play with the cards we've been dealt.

DaveCW2 02-10-2009 09:49 PM

I'll be praying for you and yours, Craig. I don't know what else to say except good luck, man!

GoCards 02-10-2009 09:59 PM

That is very bad news. But remember that the Doctors allways presume the worst because they dont want to get sued later on if they were too optimistic. I wish you best of luck as I really hope to see more of your pictures. Please keep us posted with whats going on.

ThinkTank 02-12-2009 07:51 PM

Man, life is a real bitch sometimes. I feel for you and your family. I don't know how the law is down under, but from personal experience, I recommend that you have a plan. You need a will and a living will. You need to make sure that your wishes are carried out exactly the way you want. When my father in law died, his will was 10 years old and did not reflect what he wanted when he passed. It caused a tremendous amount of stress and conflict amongst the people that loved him. He left a mixed legacy and it shadows the way his family interact to this day. I know you're a practical guy and would not want your family to guess what you wanted or be troubled by things that you can take care of now. I am not trying to morbid, but take it from me, you do not want your loved ones to go through more than they have to. It may also help you to know that they are taken care of in the way you wanted.

My thoughts are with you. Even though I don't really "know" you, I consider you to be a friend and wish you the best.

Josh

Wausauviper 02-12-2009 08:45 PM

I wish I could say I understand what you are going through, but I don't, and can't. I just hope and pray that everything works out for you and your family. Best of luck.

EasySimpleStuff 02-13-2009 03:32 AM

Man, I dont know what to say...

But remeber that nothing is never 100% certain and anything is possible...

So keep the faith, and keep the fight...

Never give up!!

My thoughts are with you and I wish you all the best...

Thanks Josh, and thanks everyone. I have made certain preparations in case the worst should occur, including writing a will. Thanks to a life of hard work my wife and I are debt-free and financially secure, so at least there's no money worries for my wife should the worst happen. It's all in God's hands now.

Fisher 02-13-2009 09:37 PM

I am with everyone here when I say to hang in there and fight Craig. I am glad to hear that you have everything financially secure for the worst case scenario, but I would much rather log on each day and see Outrider pics. I am not much of a religious man, but I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

When it's in Gods hands, it is guarenteed to turn out for the best. If we know this to be true, and believe in it as sure as we believe that the sun will rise, than no weapon formed against you shall prosper. God knows the size of your shoulders and he will never place upon them anything they can't handle. It only stretches the limits of our will, not our capabilities. Don't believe for one second that this is terminal. this, without a doubt, can be overcome. Believe it! Many of us here are not ready to give up our Outrider and we will bring our petitions before God daily.

So lets kick this things @ss, so you can get back to owning us with your skills!
