O Ring Fans!

I am quitting 25th!

Finaly getting straight into O Ringed Figures!

And also, I saw how the Con O Ringed sets sold out so I was thinking, most of us O ringed fans should Email Hasbro trying to convince them to bring back O Rings...

Urban Saboteur 08-20-2008 11:44 AM

The lolness of this!

This is LOL funny. :D
I don't blame you though man, infact for the last 8 or so months I've been ranting about Hasbro's inept 25th line, although I can see the good and bad points to collecting either line.. .if your like Craig etc, why buy the same characters twice over, especially when there has been a well reported problem with the design from the outset.

Outrider 08-20-2008 11:48 AM

That's good to hear man, you won't be sorry. I doubt we'll ever see the return of the o-ring though, unfortunately.

Rambo 08-20-2008 12:21 PM

Welcome Milkyzombie to the land of dinosaurs. O-ring are so much cool!!!

The only 2 figs I want from the 25th line are BATs and NemesisFan.

Urban Saboteur 08-20-2008 12:27 PM

Nemesis Immortal.

yell, scream, shout all you want. the 25th are doing way, way better then hasbro thought, theres no chance they will due away with them and bring back the o-ring when the o-ring went downhill in the end.

true about the same characters, but with the 25th you get the same character that is updated. with the con you get the same character with new paint.

Well now the only reason I will get the 25th is for accescories.
And I know most people like them I mean I can see why but the thing is I am tired of rereleasing everybody!

So far, 3 Fireflys! I mean its annoying!

lehsreh 08-20-2008 02:07 PM

lol, its been that way from the start. look at the last 2 years of the o-ring. we had like 7 different snake eyes and 5 storm shadows

Because he is taller, like the character... a monster.

NemesisFan... I was joking about a former nick name of a friend.

EasySimpleStuff 08-21-2008 01:08 AM

Yeah, O-ring all the way... ALL the way.

Seriosly though, I really cant get exited about the 25th cos' no o-ring means weird articulation on the chest, that makes them look like having manboobs...

Plus imo they are a bit too tall (I.E Destro who is huge, compared to "normal" o-ringed version of whomever) so I really even cant use the 25th with the O-ringed ones...it just looks weird imo.

Only reason I ever even would considering getting a 25th is the accessories and vehicles...they seem great

But then again, the B.A.T looks cool... so does Zartan and SS, but thats about it...

So I'm sticking to O-rings and only O-rings...they just are so much cooler/better/superb =)

25th is doing well because most single carded waves are undershipped and in small cases to boot. There's an artificially induced demand going on.

When the stores get the stuff in stock in bigger numbers, it lingers as much as anything. Wal-Mart had 40 of one wave of comic packs, which includes good-looking ones with the CG, the Twins and the Dreadnoks. If single waves shipped more, pegs would still be full of Buzzers, and Dukes with Jet Pack and Wild Bills would be piling up.

I've recently switched over to O-rings because I have no choice. 80s figures are simply easier to find. Had no problem getting a complete V1 Tunnel Rat, but do you think I can get a 25A General Hawk? Dream on.

Yep, the manboob look is laughable, and one of the main things I dislike about the 25th figures.

I have not had a problem with Wal-mart having the stuff...just wait a little while and it all shows up. I have passed on BATS at retail, because all I really need is 2. I have seen many General Hawks. Maybe I'm lucky, but I just check when Im there anyway.

Saw one at TRU today. That is one good looking 25th figure.

DaveCW2 08-21-2008 07:55 PM

From a photographic point of view, the figs from Joe vs. Cobra to now are easier for me to take pics of because of the duller paint; it's gives off less glare from light.

From my pics, you'll see I have no real problems with the 25th :D But hey, at least you can still find o-ringed figs on ebay fairly easily, and distribution looks to be getting better on the 25th stuff (at least in MI), so we can all be happy ;)

Have fun!!!

Dersham 08-22-2008 09:48 PM

Hey Doom I've been finding quite a bit of the 25th stuff in Canada. Especially at TRU. Walmart has had figures but they're always sold out whenever I go there. On one occasion I found a Bludd to my surprise, which I greedily snatched. I was in Vancouver just recently and went to a comic book store there and they were selling the 25th figures at atrocious prices. It was like 16-17 bucks a figure and even TRU is selling them at a little under 10 bucks. So I was not impressed. He did have the Night Watch set there as well, which I felt tempted to grab, but at like 45 - 50 bucks it didn't feel worth it.

silentdusty 08-23-2008 07:03 AM

The only TRU near me had absolutely no 25th stuff at all, all it had were a couple of the crappy Sigma Sux mini vehicles. My local Wal-Mart has figs on occasion, I'm still looking for a few good BAT's. I've checked three Wal-Mart's in Halifax, and only one of them had anything GI Joe at all and it was a Sigma Sux Storm Shadow, but I digress from the topic.

Yes I am a huge O-ring fan, though my 25ths are quite pretty for display, which is pretty much all I use them for. I would however like to find a few BAT's simply because as droids they don't suffer from the manboob syndrome, and overall it's not a half bad fig, especially the accesories.

I was talking to the toy guy at the West End Walmart and he said GI Joe isn't one of their regular products. They only carry it on occasion and they currently don't have any on order.

I keep reading posts about people going out an picking up half a dozen figures at one place, then a couple vehicles at another... What kind of magical world do you people live in where you can just go to a store and buy what you want?
