Chap Mei vehicle with similarities with the RHINO
 

Hi guys!

I just found out the new police sets coming from Chap Mei, and this SWAT vehicle has a lot of things in common with the RHINO... don't you think?

I don't care the line. If the figures/vehicles are cool I just buy them.

The Chap Mei vehicles are just as functional as what Hasbro is producing. In some cases the Chap Mei vehicles are more functional for the mundane aspects of a dio.

I've started purchasing the line of vehicles.........aww crap, I can't remember the name of it........but the dune buggies that I got, it's from that line........Flint and I have some killer ideas for what we want to do!! :cool:

The figures?? Eeeehhhh.........I don't care so much for..........good as 'backround extras' ;)

The line is Power Team Elite - World Peacekeepers. I just love this line too. :D

i can really do some great work with that vehicle wher can i buy them or get more info i would like to see some more pics of these. looks like the rhino except for the big net gun that i will remove if i ever find them. thanks in advance for any info. :)

There's a website devoted to chapmeitoys' various lines at www.chapmeitoys.com, it's not an official site but has plenty of info, the vehicle just came out here in Malaysia, expect 3-6 months time it will be out in the states.

Their prices are pretty OK in the states, a box set like that goes for about $20, over here they are about double the price thanks to the distributor setting them as such :( . Chap Mei packages it vehicles in various formats so the boat may be available individually, there is a military version of it too.

Well, new to TRU at least.

Their Elite Operations line (yeah, the one with the lead paint recalls!) just added some Chap Mei sets that inclue a machine gun post, mini vehicle and figure for $11. There's two versions, similar sets were seen at Big Lots last year.

I've yet to get them.

Also, they have a land rover with towed quad AA gun set and another set with combat boat (NOT the moray knockoff, sorry) and a mini copter for $17 each. The rover and gun set looks good. Each includes a figure. (same old ones) Oddly photos on the box don't match contents (they show an extra figure and a windsurfer instead of mini copter).

Plus, if you frequent yojoe forums, you know about the PTE A-10 for $30. Includes a new ground crewman (who looks to have neck articulation, unlike the pliot). It's larger than the Rattler. Looks pretty decent.

Also, some electronic jet fighter with a pilot not sure who makes it. The pilot had elbow and knee joint, maybe neck joint. For some reason there's two variations on the pilot's colors, but their jets looked the same. Might interest somebody. I can't recall the price, maybe $20, maybe less.

Hopefully those lead paint scares will lead them to dump the lamer military junk (some of which has potential, just looks cheap and possibly can kill you :p ) and get more PTE and Chap Mei.

I say all that, but I left the stuff in the stores and got a dirty Sandtrooper and the new 25th Officer (is one arm supposed to be shorter than the other?) instead.

It's worth noting, and mentioned on other forums, that Target in the USA now carries BBI's realistic 1:18 scale line.

Figures $5 (never owned any, actually)

Paratroopers (i forget maybe $7)

Humvees $20 (seem too small to me, they had 2 versions IIRC)

Light Armored Vehicle (Lav) for $25

M1A1 Abrahms (desert) $30

Apache $30 (pretty impressive looking)

Blackhawk Copter $30 (Tempting, really tempting...if I had room.)

Could be a repack of a new production run, most of the chap Mei stuff you mentioned came out close to a year ago outside the states (the mini copter and windsurfer actually 1 1/2 year before) and the boat and windsurfer were packed together (can still find these around my part of the world), you can see the thread and pics here

I have the Rover with quad gun and Moray clone, both very nice pieces IMO

Some Big Lots had the "Combat Helicopters aka black little birds now with guns & rockets ($13)" last year, but they didn't stock too many, at least not the one near me. I bought one early, since the combat version seems harded to find (TRU stocks the weaponless one). For some reason it include a barbwire fence section, not that I'm complaining.

TRU only has the combat version of the little bird in my part of the world

Chap Mei has plenty of nice stuff out in my part of the world, I've picked up a Harrier Jump Jet, Osprey and a huge missile hauler truck among others. I'm looking forward to their next Soldier Force series, as not only do I expect repaints of the SWAT line vehicles that just come out but probably a new tank since it's been a while since Chap Mei last produced one. Power Team Elite has almost every humvee variant that you want plus a nice F-18, I hope they bring the 155mm piece to my part of the world

Only in new, different TRU packaging.

No mini copter or cage thing, instead it includes a small police car.

Still has 2 figures, but not the new ones seen in the review above.

Price was $19.99, IIRC.

(I didn't get it, it's neat, but I'm cutting back on everything...)

They also had 6 packs of the rescue/fireman/cop figures. None that I saw included those new figures, though.

1:18 harley davidson bikes ---- are there any?
 

I saw a pic of a harley davidson bike for 1:18 figures. it was sand colored, khaki to be more precise and it had a sidecar which looked very wide. where can I find this bike? also are there any other good ones that don't look too oversized? I know chap mei has a harley davidson bike with sidecar but it is too large. thanks.

I find them at 'Walgreens'....they're called 'Speed Wheels' and they're by 'MotorMax'.......

I love the detail......BMW, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Mercedes Benz.......

I plan on showcasing them more when the weather gets better.....

With a screwdriver you can remove the tanks and "poof" instant flatbed.....
It even has the ramps on the rear......which kinda doesn't make sense if you have a fuel tank on the back! I bought two and they're NOT the sturdiest construction, so just keep the kids from playing Demolition Derby!!

Thats pretty neat frank, thanks for the info. I to have been looking for a good flatbed for a while, ended up converting a battle force eliminator to one. So do you think is worth it? I don't really like the gun on the cab, but is is customizable?

The gun turret is detachable....I'm gonna try to mount an MG on there...I'll let ya know how it goes!

Those are killer. What do you plan to load on the flatbeds?

For GI Joe Vamps, Awe Strikers, PTE Humvees and Buggys fit nice Mobats fit, but are a little too bulky (I think the beds on these are narrower than the ones Jimbo uses in his pics!)

for Cobra's I think HISS tanks, Stingers(and the 1998 Rattler Jeep Variant), IMP's

I also have some Oktober Guard Custom Vehicles and tons of crates and boxes from different sets.

And I have basic US military vehicles like the BBI Abrams, LAV, Bravo Team and 21st Century M2 Bradleys.

I may even get some hobby wood and make a box for the trailers....but I need to find time with the 1,000 other projects that I have pending!
