Can I ask you all a question RE:my photos?
 

Hi all.

Seriously now,I thought this:12inch Lady Jaye

was a pretty good pic.........

But it's rated "2" which is 'bad'.Now,I layed on my stomach and held my breath to snap this pic,and it's all 'in-camera'.I cropped it down on my computer before posting it,but that's all.

I threw away several similar shots that were blurry or whatever.

So,could the people that think it's bad tell me how to improve it? Or what is wrong with it?

I'd appreciate that.

Dave, don't worry about it, man. There is a snivelling little coward out there who gains great pleasure from rating people's pics with just one "star". He hits pretty well every pic I post, I've been putting up with the little chickensh!t for ages, but lately he seems to have expanded his activities. The telling factor is he never has the 'nads to put his name to a comment on why he rates the pic so low, so we know the kind of person we are dealing with. I gave up on the rating system ages ago, it's the comments that matter.

I do think that taking the figure outside was kind of a big step in quality for me.

I'm going to take my next pix outside too.

Just about every picture out of the first 90 yesterday got hit with a 1. Some very fine shots got rated terrible. Whoever did this needs to post some pictures up, since he is sooo great. Read your comments, don't pay attention to a anonomous rating!

yeah don't worry about the rattings just look at the comments and stuff it probably was just some kind on idiots that get jelouse over awesome shots and want to rate them bad

It looks like they are up to it again, everything from today is rated terrible. Is the Troll back?

1 ratings are meaningless to me unless there's something blatantly awful about the picture (no focus, toys just on a work surface in a pile, that sort of thing).

The ones that bug me are the 4 ratings without a comment, as that says to me that someone actually did think about the pic and thinks there's something that could be improved, and I'd genuinely like to have that criticism!

I totally missed the shot, as I tend to do more than I like. I think it's a fine figure and a HUGE improvement upon any 12 inch figures Hasbro has put out in the past decade.

As for the 1 star bandit, he's just some lurker creep. He dosn't care for the well-known guys or anything 25th Anniversary. He oughta get out more.

Sorry about that! But like everyone says, pay attention to the feedback, NOT the rating! The ballless wonder is back, lurking in the shadows and throwing out one-stars like it's cool. Until Hammerfel figures out how to fix the rating system to force you to make a comment first, don't sweat it! That pic was RIGHT ON!!!

I am kinda proud of my girl customs...some of them have been planned for years!

I'm taking more pix now,and will post the best after developing them.

Truthfully,I like constructive criticism..if you guys say,"work on your perspective",or 'this is how to improve composition" or whatever...I'll listen.

Like any hobby,sharing tips and techniques can only help us grow. :)

I'm not one to critique customs, as I never really make any. That Lady Jaye looks great, though. The photo looks pretty spot on, as well, complete with a blurred background.

I'd say you're doin' just fine.

Seeing as though I'm non-ignorant these days i'll answer, the snivelling little coward who rates the pictures a 1* is back.
I've complained about this for quite some time, you could probably still find my old thread about the ratings system.

Your picture and your figure are both great, as stormer and outrider mentioned the comments from the people are what matter here not the ratings, its just a shame we can't find out who the little troll is.. i'd like 5 minutes with him and a tin of nitromors paint stripper.. :mad:

But keep up the good work all the same.

This is a great custom I must have missed it when you originally posted it, I almost totally ignore the rating system I'm happy if I get a 5 but if I don't it really doesn't bother me, like a lot of others have said just pay attention to the comments that's the true rating system

It was a great custom, don't worry about the 1 star phantom. I'm like everyone else, I go by the comments my pictures get, and if I like a picture I see I give feedback not stars. :)

Exactly. If someone has the decency to put their name to a comment, it carries weight and means something. Anonymous 1-star ratings are a pointless waste of effort by the brainless, gonad deficient, inadequite little bed-wetter that flings them about because it makes him feel like a real man for a change.
