Server Busy?
 

Is anyone else getting "Server Busy, please check back momentarily" or some stupid error like that when they try to access JoeDios? It's been like that on and off all day! I know Shane and Jay have experienced it....anyone else? And has it been worse lately?

I've just been on now.. well I'm here now.. the only real time I've managed to check the site today. I didnt get any problems.. ;)

it happened to me today and three times yesterday.

Yep; last couple of days, today especially.

I've gotten it once in a while........I just chalk it up to too many 'trolls' trying to find a comic pack Firefly........... :p

I get it occasionally, but not too often. I did see it once yesterday, now that you mention it.

THAT HAPPEND TO ME LAST NIGHT TOO I FINALLY GOT ON AT ABOUT 10:30pm PACIFIC BUT ITS BEEN COOL TONIGHT :)

happened to me a few times when i was on the wii, thought it was the router being glitchy. got on the comp, and it happened again.

I got it yesterday as well. :(

I get that stupid message more often than not...

I got it yesterday a few times, and this morning as well. Anybody know the cause?

i've had it happen to me to 2 time in fact but it's quit now i hope

Man, I'm glad it's not just me! This is the first time I've been able to get onto the site for a day and a half. Not being able to access Joedios? Now that's frustrating! :(

Hint: if you get the "Server Too Busy" message, navigate to either the 'Photos' or 'Forum' or any of the links above and you can get into the site. Not sure what is causing the error but you can bypass it with no problem by just jumping to a different section of the site. :)

Yeah i'm been getting it quite often the past couple days as well. It's actually making me wonder now if we screwed with the wrong guy and he's some kind of hacker lol

I have experienced similar troubles. :confused:

guys its not the site i have this trouble all the time, there's some thing wrong with the plugs, yahoo, msn, googles ,ask, all of them, ether too many people on or weather bond, singles problems with satellites, it could be a bunch of things. its not your computers.

this doesnt work,when the site like that, you ant getting in, there's a lot of sites like this, yojoe is like this all the time..toymania.com,comicartcommunity.com,just to name a few,

I know it isn't my computer, I'm just mad when it happens.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but when you have PHP scripting running, don't you have to go in every so often and perform maintenance? Is it being done on JoeDios?

IF not, does anyone out there have experience with scripting Php or VB?

Yup... it's been happening to me today & all week.... :( I keep checking during the day at work and try to do my comments/replys when I can get on...

this may be with PHP scripting .but how many times dose this need to be done.
this is like a consent thing,some thing is not right with this. it may be someone is tampering with something, this is not the only site that has this problem.

The busy server is getting worse and worse!! I could not log on at all today until 6:00!!

Yeah its been happening a lot to me too.
Most annoying when youve just finished a pm or reply.

Yeah, 4 posts in the last few days never made it on to the forums because when I hit "Submit" I get "Server is too busy at the moment. Please try back later".

And one was HUGE!!!! LOL!

Another thing I'm noticing....when I log on, threads I just read before getting the error are in bold as if I haven't read the latest on that thread.

I think it may be a problem processing cookies, even though I dumped my cache and it is still happening.....but it is happening on a more regular basis!

I've been noticing the opposite - if I've got the server busy message and I come back later, it's apparently still logged me as visiting the site since there will be non-bold threads with posts i haven't read, that don't show up in the "New posts since your last visit" list... And it seems that I can never get on in the mornings (UK time) but later in the evening I can usually get at the site.

I had it happen twice today, and about three times in the past week or so. Could be that this site is just so darn popular :D

you may be right, this site has grown a lot. maybe it cant handle all of us on at the same time?
