If I'm doing my math right, a set of figures (5 figures: 3 standing, 1 kneeling, 1 horse) would be about $10 after tax. However, these things aren't light and would probably cost around $10 to ship, even w/o the neat box they come in. They come already wrapped, much like an Asian Pear.
As for furniture, it's made for a country doll house and each piece is $1.50 or $2.00. I don't think the boss would let me take pictures... Hmmmmm... Frank, I don't know if you are anywhere near Daly City but here's the only Cali address... Name : SERRAMONTE Address : 146 Seramonte Centre Daly City,CA 941015 Floor area : 15,500ft2(1,438m2) Opened : 2006.12.15 For further information... Daiso In Japan, 100 yen shops, or one-coin shops, similar to dollar stores in the United States and pound shops in the U.K., are commonly known as "hyakkin". Daiso is a major player in the 100 yen shop industry - so much so that its name has become synonymous with "hyakkin". 100 yen shops are enhancing their status in the retail industry to rank alongside department stores, supermarkets and convenience stores. Through a wide selection of products ranging from miscellaneous daily goods to food, cosmetics, home décor and traditional Japanese arts and crafts, together with amazingly low prices, Daiso endeavours to bring pleasure and satisfaction to its customers. With a broad customer base that extends from children to the elderly, the 100 yen shop industry has grown to occupy an indispensable place in the lives of the Japanese public. Daiso products can be found everywhere - in homes, workplaces and shops. In the early days, there was concern surrounding the quality and stable supply of products that were sold at a flat price, but customers’ perspective changed as a result of the efforts of Hirotake Yano, Daiso’s founder and current president, to improve product quality, leading to Daiso’s growth into the largest 100 yen chain store in the country. By winning the trust of department stores and other major retailers, and hence the confidence of customers, we have grown to occupy an indispensable place in people’s lives. Daiso is far and away the leader in the industry and its name has become synonymous with the 100 yen shop. Daiso has expanded its product lines and number of shops on such a scale that it can no longer be categorized solely as a 100 yen shop. It is now so well established as part of everyday life that it has become the destination of choice for the purchase of daily commodities. Our aim is to develop and sell products which are of true value to our customers by focusing on originality and quality. In the year ended March 2005, Daiso sales exceeded 320 billion yen and our network of shops across Japan numbered over 2,400. The number of shops is growing at a rate of 20 to 30 shops a month and our overseas network is also increasing at a rapid pace. We aim to continue expanding our network around the world in our endeavour to bring a touch of colour and pleasure to customers’ lives. |
