Five words for ya: Not buying any movie figures. :p

GoCards 12-05-2008 10:31 AM

I'll buy a few of these sets. They may not look like the IGs or Neo-Vipers we're used to, but I'm sure I could find a few uses for them.

all i can say is yuck.

silentdusty 12-18-2008 06:42 PM

Those look like customs to me, that being said, the Baroness has a Cobra logo, which as far as I know and have seen from screen shots and publicity photos, isn't on any of the costumes. So far I have only seen 'officially' the MARS Trooper figures which actually look pretty good. I'll take these with a grain of salt until something 'official' is released.

good point. this really had me in a sad mood, but like you said, the mars figures looked okay so these may be fakes. but i have never saw the clutch head before.

From Outrider

generalsjoes.com has posted some pictures of the Pit:

http://generalsjoes.com/2009/02/11/...images-the-pit/

Very, very disappointing.

vespapilot79 02-12-2009 10:14 PM

A sad day when even the movie figures suck! Im sure some ppl may be aware of a site dedicated to 1:18 scale stuff. Small Scale Headquarters.com. Pretty cool site, definately recommend to read some of the posts. Im also going to start making the trauma/extraction kits for sale. It will come with a spine board w straps, head immobilizer blocks,an o2 tank and trauma bag. I'll have some new pics of the set up in a day or so. I dont plan on making a killing with these either, so i will keep the prices affordable!! Let me know if any of you are interested!! Thanks, Sean.

I like that Lampreys!

Sonneilon 02-14-2009 07:20 PM

This is wonderful news in terms of upcoming figures. I like what I see. The only I'm not so sure about is the Range Viper. Yeah, a few of those figures don't have their accessories and that'll make or break them; but I think we can all guess what Wetsuit, Recondo and RipTitTude will have. It's cool too that Recondo looks to use the Dusty mold which means we get swivel waist!

As geeked as it sounds, my main interests are the NiteCreepers, HitNRun (never had one) and don't laugh, the Alley Viper. there's something about bright colored urban soldiers that DON'T make sense yet, it's Cobra! They're are cocky bastards!

Nice Hasbro. Nice.

Sonneilon 02-14-2009 07:29 PM

As for the vehicles, I could care less about them. I'll be after Thunder(blast), Frostbite and MAYBE Scrap Iron. Depends if I can wait that long!

Death_at_Midnight 02-14-2009 08:02 PM

With the figures, I'll certainly get one of each, but in terms of army building, not sure which until I can hold them in my hands.. see what accessories they come with, etc.

In terms of the vehicles, just a few look interesting. The ferret I like.. probably will get several of them. Not interested with that huge weapon, so will rip that out. Probably will not get the sion.. that hummer-like vehicle. But if I do, it'll be something for the alley vipers -- an urban vehicle or something.

Has anyone noticed the Firefly ID card? Red helmet on Firefly?

That battle damaged B.A.T... the head would look better on the 25th B.A.T. Those arms look too clean for the battle damaged head.

ToneGunsRevisited 02-14-2009 08:24 PM

About the figures... Damn! I'll have to pic some of them.

About the vehicles... I'm in love with the Cobra Gunship. I'm only missing some blades, but it is totally cool.

Rambo 02-14-2009 09:54 PM

Awesome figs!!!!!!!!!
Mindbender is the best IMHO.

ThinkTank 02-14-2009 10:08 PM

I have to say that I think all these figures look totally freaking awesome. I even like the AlleyViper, the gear rocks and the orange is not offensive, even though it would look better in black or gray probly. I am pumped about all these guys. I am especially impressed with the Strato Viper and the Lamprey. Im gonna need several of those Lampreys. I never liked the original, they were too smooth and egg like for me. But this one looks great.

neapolitan joe 02-14-2009 10:08 PM

The Gunship.

The Cobra's Gunship is the only good vehicle in the movie toys. :)

No your not I like it too.

Self-Modifier 02-15-2009 11:50 AM

They all look great to me!

Is it just me, or is "SPC Altitude" pretty clearly supposed to be classic Rip Cord? The name may be different to separate him from the movie version, but he sure looks a lot more like Rip Cord than Sky Patrol's Altitude! Assuming this was Hasbro's intent, I think it's a great way to satisfy fans who wanted an ARAH-style Rip Cord but were afraid they wouldn't get one because of the movie!

EDIT: Oops, just noticed that Sonneilon had already called him "Rip-ti-tude." That's what I get for not reading closely enough!

PREORDER!
http://www.toyrocket.com/Battle-Packs-C2739.aspx

vespapilot79 02-24-2009 10:34 AM

BBTS preorders

BBTS has the Artic Hiss, Stinger, Flak and Claw avail for preorder again. Products due late April.

Black Knight 02-24-2009 11:43 AM

So, I just went to that site to check my preorder status for the new battle packs and they show me not having any preorders. On top of that I can't find them to re-preorder. These people just lost a customer... if they are that iresponsible with a preorder, then I would never give them my money.

Death_at_Midnight 02-26-2009 06:49 AM

Hrm, I got an email yesterday confirming my preorder, shows up on my account on their site. This was just for the Arctic HISS, what had you pre-ordered? I am amazed that the Stinger was already out of stock when I got on the site just hours after it was mentioned here.

vespapilot79 02-26-2009 11:38 AM

Seems the best way to get a stinger on pre order is to buy the set offered or keep checking the site. The same thing occured last time they were avail on BBTS.

GoCards 03-07-2009 11:26 PM

Looks like Forces of Valor has some new 1:18 scale Special Ops figures on the way. These seem to be Delta Force and SEALs.
Also, there's some 1:18 Terminator:Salvation figures coming out. Don't know when, though.

Convention Set

Can Anyone Guess What The Set Will Be Now? This Was On The Latest Collectors Club News Letter Regarding The 3 3/4 Set Hint.

"we Battle In Foreign Land But NOT In The Shadows. You've Seen Us Before, But Now We Bend More!"

Hammerfel 03-12-2009 11:15 AM

Sounds like Action Force to me. Foreign land, but not the (Red) Shadows (Action force's enemy).

Maybe they bend more because they have better articulation?
