I really must apologise to you Craig.
For a long time now I have been lurking on the site and keeping up to date with things. However, I should have commented on this thread a long time ago. While I added a message of support to you on your first thread. This update has left me stunned and concerned. Being something of a typical male, words have very much escaped me, finding words can be very difficult. Finding the right words can be even harder. I can only empathise with your situation. You, Deanne and your family have my best wishes and support. I wish there was something more I could say or do. Not that I have to type this because I know you well enough to know that you already will be in a determined mind set but nevertheless: keep your head up and keep fighting the good old fight! In the near four years since Joedios brought us together I've known nothing but kindness, encouragement and friendliness from you. I'm sure I can honestly speak for everyone on the site in saying that they will share my observations and thoughts. You are a true gentleman in every sense of the word and an inspiration to all of us and by that, I mean for more reasons than just your photography and photoshopping skills! Please keep us updated. GM Holden/HSV's 2nd biggest fan, aka Dave. |
I've been bouncing around the periphery of online Joe-fandom for the better part of a year but if anything's going to get me to come back to JD it's going to be offering my support & best wishes to you & yours, Craig. My mum only recently finished cancer treatment (successfully it would appear) so I have an inkling of how rough it can be, although I can't pretend to know what you're going through.
I'm also not great with the sentimental stuff, but I'd like to echo that you're an inspiration both creatively and personally. You've never given me cause to regard you with anything but the utmost respect and I'm proud to be associated with you. If everyone on the Internet, and in the "real" world, were to follow your example the society we live in would be improved exponentially. And there'd be a lot more cool stuff to look at. |
Dude, Dave. That's a good way to put it. STUNNED. I think I still am and my heart hurts cuz of what's happening to you. Be strong. WE're here if you need us and when you need us.

You burden us with anything you want Craig, we are all here to support you through this. So if giving some the burden to us, your online friends helps in anyway take a little of the burden off of your wife, we all have big shoulders and a good majority of us have been touched is some way by cancer, me it was my father in law. Keep up the good fight, and my family and I continue to pray for you and your wife. |
Update time. Was at the hospital all day yesterday to have a permanent line inserted into my arm for the chemo treatment, and then my first chemo session. I now have to wear a slow dose pump for a further two days before returning to the hospital to have it removed. This cycle repeats every two weeks. Thankfully, the side effects so far have been minimal, even non existent, and I probably feel as good as I have for weeks. Still a long way to go yet, and I don't want to jump the gun, but so far so good. :)

I am glad you are felling a little better at least.

Encouragement

Any sign of encouragement should be jumped upon and we can build towards making you stronger.. you know we'll support you every possible step. Lets hope for significant improvement :) |
And things might be so and at the end we'll win the fight.

1st Chemo....
Its easy for us to say, but hang in there. We're all there for you.
|
As a rather intermittent poster here, I saw all of the support in people's avatars and sigs and wondered what the deal was.
I'm so sorry to hear the news that I read in this thread. :( Stay strong and I'll be praying for you too man. Best of luck and keep fighting! |
Sounds good Craig, thank you for keeping us informed! You're in my prayers everyday!

Thanks guys. I start another cycle of chemotherapy treatment tomorrow, and seeing as I've felt a little better since the first one, I'm hoping this one will improve things as well. I don't want to speak too soon, but so far the side effects from the treatment have been minimal. I guess I'll find out over the next few days if it stays like that or not.
|
that's Good Craig I (we) Hope So Too. By The Looks Of Your Shots Lately I Would Say Your Feeling Great! :d
|
Good to hear. Thank you for sharing these details with us. Our prayers continue to be with you.

Time for another update; I had my second chemo session yesterday, and once again, so far, so good as far as the side effects go (hopefully it stays that way). Now I just have to wear the darn annoying slow release pump for the next two days. :( My blood count was a little low again (the main tumor is still bleeding), so I may need another transfusion depending on how that progresses, I'll just have to wait and see.

Darn my habits as a lurker. my mom went through chemo for breast cancer once, though not nearly to the extreme as you are. she's been a survivor for atleast 5 years now. from what i hear i can tell it's rough, but every day IS a gift and not a given right (if i may quote nickleback).
the fact that you're still positive and posting epic pictures is proof of why we all like ya so much. i'd have to say we need to gather your photos up in a book and see if we can publish them through hasbro, your shots surpass their crappy advertising by a long shot. keep fighting the good fight! -The Local Ace of Aces |
take It Easy Old Man :D I'm Sure You Can Deal With The Minor Annoyance For A Few Days. It Seems Your Doing Better. Just Stay Positive :)

OLD MAN !!?? Hang on.....you're not far wrong now that I think about it Marcos!! :D |
The fact that your body is coping is a good sign. I know that cancer with spread has a high mortality rate but some do survive it, it can just as well be you! Belive it!
|
Man I sure was hoping to come back to better news,I've been down with my Leg for a while. The best thing is to stay Positive and Trust in the Main Man upstairs,People Beat Cancer everyday. And I think your going to be one of those that whips this, you'll be in my Prayers..Stay Strong, and God Bless.... :)

Update number...er, whatever. I just got home from my third chemotherapy session and I'm not feeling too bad. The side effects are becoming a little more pronounced with each treatment, but are still manageable, and I have to admit I am feeling better overall, so the benefits outweigh the negatives thus far. My wife and I have taken up walking again, and I'm able to go a little further each day without feeling exhausted afterwards. I'm also doing weights again, no where near what I was doing beforehand, but it's a start. I have one more session left before having more scans to see if it has had any effect on the tumors.
|
Thats good to hear that you are doing things you enjoy again.
|
To Mister Outrider.
Forza Outrider!!!

I'm glad to hear you're doing good.
Perhaps you should open a new thread with a new name: And the news is.... GOOD. |
Glad to hear things are going good.
"What's this walking-thing you were talking about? Is that something done without a car?" |
Stay strong thru it all! It'll pay off!

Thanks Rambo, but it is just a little too soon for that just yet, I'll wait until I've had the scans again before I do that! :) |
