Not yet and hopefully, not ever, but here's the situation. My Dad just got diagnosed with Colon Cancer (and possibly has liver cancer). Last May I lost my Mom to brain Cancer. My father and my sister went into debt for her care. Now that Dad is ill, they are tapped out. Right now, I'm sending what I can, but I don't know if it will be enough. If not, the only thing of value I have except my car (which I don't own, cause I'm still paying it off!) is my collection of Joes. I'm not gonna sell them unless I have to, but if I do I just need to know if there is a way I can get max cash quick rather than do a months long liquidation sale!

Maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but it's at that stage now where we're still not 100% sure of his diagnosis and how good/bad it will be, and with this upcoming Afghanistan deployment, just losing my mother last year, and all the other crap goin on in my life, I'm emotionally and spiritually tapped out! But this planning and brainstorming stuff gives me something to do instead of just going out of my mind while I wait to see....

You might want to get that insured...

Roughly guessing approx 150 fellas per shelf on that rightmost shelving unit times 6 shelves. That's about 900 figures on the one shelving unit alone (very rough guess on my part). At a conservative $4 per piece that would be about $3,600 for that one shelf alone. The vintage vehicles on the other shelves would fetch at least $500 per shelving unit (not per shelf, but who knows). So you might want to get the whole collection insured for $10 to 12K. ( I don't know anyone who insures Joes.)

But to your question of what you could actually get for that, I don't really know. I hope this is a hypothetical question.

EDIT: I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I started typing this after Lehsreh's comment and saw your comments after posting mine. We'll pray for your family during this difficult time.

Frank thats sad buddy. I apologize man, I'm not a big "religious" guy but I might have to get a hold of the man upstairs.

I'm sorry to hear about your family. Hopefully your dad will respond well to treatment. Is he a veteran? There might be some private organization assistance out there. My dad passed before we really had a chance to look (late diagnosis).

About the Joes, you might send a note to some of the online stores, JoeArmory, GuruPlanet, SmallJoes, etc. and just see if they're open to buying collections. The price probably won't be optimal, but like you said, it won't be a months long sale, either.

Selling

I'm sorry bout your family situation Ender. Been out of the the loop, wuz diagnosed with blood clots in my lungs and legs. Been in hospitial since last wednesday. On your collection, scale it down a little. Get rid of the items that don't make you go wow. You can always get them again at a later date. Don't sell it all just scale the items your not crazy bout and you should come up with a good little mass of money
