I don't really get this. Why are people hyped about Helix ? Is she anything more than an unknown character from a not yet released video game, without any established history or characterization ? It seems to me like Wraith all over again. Anyone remember Wraith ? No, I didn't think so.

WELL YEAH BATMAN THATS EXACTLY IT. PLUS THE FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE CAN'T SEEM TO FIND HER ADDS TO THE HYPE. ALL THAT ASIDE SHE IS THE BEST DESIGNED FEMALE FIGURE OF ALL THE ROC ONES.........

BATman... Uh... She might be a niche figure and as been stated, she's kinda hard to find. People remember Wraith. I even use him in my current dio. Just cuz I remember him doesn't mean I LIKE the guy. ;) But anyway... you know how female figures tend to work. A lot of people go after them cuz they are usually made in a smaller number than MOST figures. (ie; Duke, SE, etc.)
I'm guessing that a lot of people like the fact she may not have a history so they can do what they want with her. I bet if Lehsreh gets his hands on her, Clutch will be all over in a dio! |
I don't think she'll be hard to fine, it's just an example of how Hasbro set up ROC so confusing with waves and collections that it's just going to be difficult. Some stores still don't even have ROC out on the pegs/shelves yet, others are already a wave beyond the Helix line.
And she is a niche character, but than again she's also a female character. In this line being female is a rarity, so that increases the demand slightly. |
When I finally found the movie figures, it had been picked over pretty well. ANd this was wave1. There were desert dukes, Destro, SE, SS and a NeoViper. That was it. I bought up all the Dukes and 2 weeks later, it's just Destro along w/ the cheapo vehicles. There was NO sign of the Pit Commandos and most places online are sold out (including Helix).
It'd be nice if these were easier to find but alas, not really up here. |
:-( Well, I got bad news to report: the Target and TRU both are sold out of Helix. They had a bunch on Monday, now none. Went to Walmart in the hopes they would have but they are down to eight ROC, seven Zartan's and one Breaker. Spoke to the Target folks because they were redoing the toy section. They told me they are expanding the action figures, to try back next week because tomorrow they are getting a shipment in, but won't get to put them on the shelves until maybe Wednesday. TRU is also getting another truck on Wednesday, but I'll check with them again on Saturday.

Been online dealing with Insurance and reserching the next car, and couldn't resist checking in! I will keep an eye out also but my Helix is the only one I have seen around town so far. I am looking for pit commando and one more crimson viper so chances are if I find them I'll find a Helix!

I HAVE BAD NEWS ASWELL. SO FAR I HAVE HIT 3 TARGETS 2 TOYS R US-EZs AND A WALMART WITH NO LUCK SORRY G. IF I GO ON A TRUCK RUN TODAY I'LL CHECK ANOTHER TARGET IN SOUTHGATE. PIT COMMANDOS ARE POPPING UP ALONG WITH THE RED NEO AND I BELIVE SHE'S IN THAT LINE SO LIKE PATRICK SAID IF THOSE ARE BEING FOUND SHE WILL. BUT AS OF NOW BUPKIS! |
