Out of a PC no. Out of a Mac yes. I still have 2 old Macs from 1994 that work great.
Dave your computer is fine. It is probably something in your OS then.
It could also be that you need a new internal clock battery. What date & time do you have?
Perhaps your HD is failing? Have you ever defragged a HD?
