the drug store is cheaper to buy beer then other places. that was the story of our childhood. we wold take all day to make a base, and get to play for about 30 minutes. you were 18 and still playing, lucky dog. everyone around me acted to mature to play. the last one sounds like a memory all of us should have went through. you never lived unless you had to ride in discomfort, that and in the back of a truck with a bunch of your friends. |
I remember Christmas 87, Between my brother and I we got the Maggot, the Persuader, and a slew of 87 figures like Jinx, Chuckles, Big Boa, Croc Master, Law and Order, Raptor, and the Cobra La pack. It was a good Christmas. Then two years later we bought a friends entire Joe collection because he didn't want them anymore. It included a Terror Drome, Night Raven, W.H.A.L.E, and a lot of cool figures. Those were good years.

1987: my mother bought me my first Joe, Dodger, in a toy shop near my house.
A new era: adios MOTU, Transformers, Captain Power, Bravestarr, Black Star, M.A.S.K., Starcom... |
So many
1. My Grandma buying my first joes Shipwreck, Snake Eyes v. 2, Lady j, Roadblock v.2, and Flint. 2. Playing for hours with my cousins Russel and Christina taking more time to set up then actually play. 3. Meeting my friend Tim in 2nd grade (he was the best man at my wedding) we would talk about/play with joes all the time and make fun of people not much has changed in 20 years. 4. My Grandma ordering me the Persuader and Zanzibar's Air Skiff from QVC 5. My mom helping me collect the flagg points and mailing in for the Super Trooper. 6. Finding Dialtone at Toys R Us in 1988 and convincing my Grandpap how much needed him and that he was a figure I didn't get when he came out. 7. Buying the crappy ver.2 mercer, v2. Grunt and 2 other crappy figures with firing missles for $20 of Birthday money only to go to a flea market the next day with my folks and see a complete terror drome for $20 which they refused to buy me and told me how if I hadn't had that money burning a hole in my pocket i could have bought that. I'm sure there's more but wow so many great memories. |

dave that was hilarous.
My best joe memory, was a christmas day in which my dad just got back from being stationed in Alaska with the airforce where he'd been since I was born. I remember getting an avalanche and lynx and my first memory with my dad was squaring off in a tank duel with him. luckily I had the avalanche. :) |
