Vypra is one that is a toughy for me.
On principle alone, I'm opposed to 'clones' that show up in the toyline that look just like already established characters and then her filecard is absolute garbage. Every time I see her in a dio, I think, this is bad fan fic and that's really Night Force Jinx! |

1) Shipwreck. I LOVED the voice actor for Shipwreck in the cartoon so much I e-mailed the actor and told him how great of a job he did with him. That Jack Nicholson sound is PERFECT. 2) Gristle. Of everyone, I found him the hardest thus far, but managed to make him head of the Alley Vipers. 3) Totally! Look at Zorg in Fifth Element, or Dracula for that matter... |

1. ) Lowlight- when I first read teh story where he had to kill a CIA turncoat and knocked him out instead, Ive loved the character. I see him as starting as a slightly geeky, jokey guy who gradually has become darker and darker as his job impacts upon him- to the point he's deadly serious and quiet. Theres a dio story (Im sorry I forgot who's) that IMO portrays teh two aspects of Lowlight perfectly- the early one- who was Shooter in the dio, and the later, darker one. 2. ) Several- Serpentor too- and all teh clones, and I still cant really a place for them. Funnily enough, like LordRaven, Gristle was one (and the rest of the Headhunters), and I also have made him head of my Alley Vipers 3. ) Does anyone remember teh film The Eiger Sanction? With Clint Eastwood. Theres a gay assassin/killer in that film that comes across as simultaneously absurd and dangerous, so yes Id say so. On a side note- I agree with the portrayal of PDD as a deep- voiced character. |
1. Duke. He speaks to me in the no-nonsense, authoritative voice of Michael Bell, who portrayed him on the cartoon. He's far and away the easiest Joe character for me to write dialogue for because I can always hear his voice so clearly as I do it.
2. Not really. I mean, nowadays, it's hard for me to find a place for the Oktober Guard, unless I permanently freeze my world in the 80s, or have it set in a near-parallel universe where the U.S.S.R. never collapsed. Other than that, I just have everyone integrated the same way they were in the comics and/or TV show. 3. I think this perfectly defines Cobra Commander from the comics, especially after his "resurrection." He'd be flitting about, using really big words and alliterating left and right, then you'd turn the page and he'd be shooting the White Clown and Magda in the head with no remorse! |

1st - Destro. When I'm playing with him I always try to do a voice between the one from the cartoons and Darth Vader's voice. 2nd - There are many. I can say Crystall Ball is one of them. He work's like an advisor to Cobra Commander when mystical matters shows up. In my 'verse COBRA Commander has the same search for the Graal and such things like they pictured Adolf Hitler at the Indiana Jones movies. 3rd - Yes I can. Headman, with all the steriotypical clothes looks like a joker, but with in a moment's notice he become a deadly shooter. |
Fascinating idea, TG. I always had Cobra Commander going for the latest in technoloy and how to annihilate his opponents. I admit, in the S6 dio, he was after new power sources. I'd love to do a "Holy Grail" idea for a dio. Maybe I can incorporate that into a dio once the 25A Firefly comes out. Zartan and Beach Head too...
