I've been using Tamiya acrylic paint myself, but do encounter chipping. I do sanding and that has mixed results, some figures hardly chip some figures do chip. I wanted to paint weapons too, but the handles always get worn away, I suppose Enamel would probably be better for that? A black handled Steyr AUG just doesn't look right to me :p

Sorry, I don't usually check the forums.
Anywho, I just the single pack Testors Acrylic paint. Most hobby stores carry it (Hobby Lobby), and it retailes for around $2.99 a bottle. Before I stuck with Testors, I tried other paints, but they didn't work as well. Tamiya chipped off for me and Apple Barrel Acrylic dried on sticky. Enamel will NOT work either. Once it fully dries it feels tacky. Testors is the way to go, It may be a bit expensive, but the results are amazing and very clean! It doesn't chip off or run around joints either. |
