What other toylines are in scale with GI Joe?
 

For us who have to buy on the internet it would be usefull to know if things you see in the product picture is in scale with GI Joe. Please give me some info here.

Ok got several responses. I will try to list them here. Please let me know if some of these lines have websites or if I got their full name wrong, as some toylines carries more than one sort of scale.

Things to watch out for.
Some die cast cars that are said to be in 1:18 scale are not.
25th GI Joes are taller than the old school figures.

Corps, the new Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Tony Hawk skate park stuff I see other people using there's a lot more

The Chap Mei line of toys as well, BBI.

look for the scale if they have it...1:18 is what Joe generally is.

Forces of Valor, Blue Box International, Power Team Elite is the stuff that I have the most of. Stay away from 1:numbers bigger than 20, as the stuff will get smaller as the second number gets bigger.

3 3/4" (inch) is the classic 80's Joe scale, pioneered in the 70's by Fisher Price's Adventure People, then popularized by Kenner's Star Wars...

1:18 is modelling terminology, 1/18th of life size (right?). It's used by people who think collecting toys should be considered a serious hobby. :p

While more or less compatible, 3 3/4" doesn't necessary equal 1:18. As comparing 25th line and vintage Real American Hero shows.

So 3 3/4 is not the inch version of the metric 1:18?

Yep bravo team is 1:18 and they have some cool accessories and vehicles too

3 3/4 inch is how tall ARAH joes were. They didnt really use a scale as far as I know. 1:18 is like this: 1 inch of toy:18 inches of real life. So if you had a 18 inch measuring stick in real life, it would be a one inch measuring stick in your toy world. That's why when the second number gets bigger, the toy gets smaller. Hows that for "serious" toy talking? lol
