and there are more photos in the collections section.....

How much would you ask for the entire collection?

Please tell me this is all hypothetical and you aren't really considering this Frank. :(

I am going to be honest with you and tell you "Not as much as you paid for it", I know it's bad news but G.I. Joe is really a buyer's market. The two routes I'd suggest choosing from is either Sell it all as one huge lot (People go nutso for those) or sell the good stuff (complete vintage, vintage army builders, rare 25th) to dealers and then just do lots of the other stuff.

I hope that helps

Dude, your collection is huge. I think unless the person is willing to come to you with at least the largest U-Haul, you might have a hard time selling it off as a lot.

I'm hoping your not thinking of getting out of the game, but if you are, I'd sell it piece by piece for a limited time, say a month or so, for reasonable prices, then sell off the rest as a lot. Hit up sites like this first, then go the eBay or Craig's List route.

Throw in the shelving for free.

well from that pic . at least over the 3k mark. thats a looooot of stuff . plus you'd have to take into consideration how to ship it to.

are you thinking of selling up or just curious ?

bingo on selling from here first, and bingo on the shelving :) I think if you price point everything generically by size, for example, figures all$3, small vehicles $9, and larger vehicles$15. People like price points and it makes offers easier. After price pointing, you can offer "twofers", "threefers"...etc. i would see if there are any local toy shows, flea markets and inquire about a space there. if you go that venue, make sure you advertise on craig's list that you'll be there. going back to your original question on pricing, Frank, break the collection down by size of vehicle, then figures, complete/incomplete and then really figure out prices that will sell it fast and fair. My Dad used to have a saying, "Ya want fast nickels or slow dimes?" I prefer fast nickels in my store :D
i hope this helps

Certainly several thousand.

Of the entire collection, the only two I would be interested are the Night Raven (version 1) and Hydrofoil.

Can those shelving go any higher? Can you like... take some selves from another and add them to the top of another? My collection is getting to look something like this and none of my shelves go all the way to the ceiling. Need to maximize storage.

Not yet and hopefully, not ever, but here's the situation. My Dad just got diagnosed with Colon Cancer (and possibly has liver cancer). Last May I lost my Mom to brain Cancer. My father and my sister went into debt for her care. Now that Dad is ill, they are tapped out. Right now, I'm sending what I can, but I don't know if it will be enough. If not, the only thing of value I have except my car (which I don't own, cause I'm still paying it off!) is my collection of Joes. I'm not gonna sell them unless I have to, but if I do I just need to know if there is a way I can get max cash quick rather than do a months long liquidation sale!

Maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but it's at that stage now where we're still not 100% sure of his diagnosis and how good/bad it will be, and with this upcoming Afghanistan deployment, just losing my mother last year, and all the other crap goin on in my life, I'm emotionally and spiritually tapped out! But this planning and brainstorming stuff gives me something to do instead of just going out of my mind while I wait to see....

You might want to get that insured...

Roughly guessing approx 150 fellas per shelf on that rightmost shelving unit times 6 shelves. That's about 900 figures on the one shelving unit alone (very rough guess on my part). At a conservative $4 per piece that would be about $3,600 for that one shelf alone. The vintage vehicles on the other shelves would fetch at least $500 per shelving unit (not per shelf, but who knows). So you might want to get the whole collection insured for $10 to 12K. ( I don't know anyone who insures Joes.)

But to your question of what you could actually get for that, I don't really know. I hope this is a hypothetical question.

EDIT: I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I started typing this after Lehsreh's comment and saw your comments after posting mine. We'll pray for your family during this difficult time.

I'm sorry to hear about your family. Hopefully your dad will respond well to treatment. Is he a veteran? There might be some private organization assistance out there. My dad passed before we really had a chance to look (late diagnosis).

About the Joes, you might send a note to some of the online stores, JoeArmory, GuruPlanet, SmallJoes, etc. and just see if they're open to buying collections. The price probably won't be optimal, but like you said, it won't be a months long sale, either.

I'm sorry bout your family situation Ender. Been out of the the loop, wuz diagnosed with blood clots in my lungs and legs. Been in hospitial since last wednesday. On your collection, scale it down a little. Get rid of the items that don't make you go wow. You can always get them again at a later date. Don't sell it all just scale the items your not crazy bout and you should come up with a good little mass of money
