Is it not just Joes anymore?

Curious. Is any dio shot kosher now, regardless of the medium? I know there's been 1:18 Marvel and SW stuff posted here before, usually there were Joes in the mix though, but has JOEdios become open to about anything now? Just want to know. :confused:

I personally still adhere to the JOE medium......not that I don't mind intermingling lines that are compatible......but primarily I like seeing G.I. JOE's here on JOEDIOS......


But I know that many like to shake things up.......so to each their own.

When I do a crossover, there's usually at least one Joe element in the shot. The exception was when I was illustrating a Microman or two.

As long as it contains elements of Joes I am ok with it. I know I always feel disapointed when I log on and there are 3 Star Wars shots on the home page. I usually just move on and come back later.

The occasional SW or Super Hero shot is ok. I don't mind the non-Joe military figures, at least that's keeping with the spirit of the origins, but yeah, sometimes it does seem to get a bit overwhelming with the non-Joe stuff.

I've done a DeadPool and Wolverine shot before, but each had specific elements in it.
I believe that you can do a couple non joe shots, but at least incorprate something into it.

I've seen some incredible Super Hero shots from Footloose, he tears it up! :D

I only (so far) have posted GI Joe things to the site however I have asked for help/feedback on Star Wars only projects in the forrums. I don't mix lines out side of custom parts.

This is a Joe site and yes Im guilty for using other toys once, maybe twice. Joedios has the best page layout for what we like to do. I dont like seaching threw forums to find pics. Anyone know of a stawars,marvel or any other site thats stay busy like joedios?(besides hisstank where your thread will get buried in less then 1min. Would love to see a StarWars site or the Fighting 1:18 site set up like Joedios!!!!

Ahem. I've been pretty quiet about this whole thing for some time now and Hammerfel hasn't outright said it, but he DOES want the JD to be all toy encompassing. Whatever brings out the creativity, he wants to see it posted. Being part of the old guard, it was originally GI Joe only but some people's works have most likely relaxed the notion that it's GI Joe only here. Therefore... Do as you wish here. Well, you know what I mean.

I hope this doesn't turn into an "anything goes" site. I'd loose interest pretty quick if it did. There are other sites for other stuff. I've said it before, what makes JoeDios great is that it's a GI Joe site. :)

we know that this is a G.I.JOE themed site, but eventually Joedios.com can host pictures of other toy lines'pictures or dioramas with some other stuff and G.I.JOEs together. So, we'll have more users, but always under G.I.JOE "brand". We have to search a compromise and try this way. :o

At the time, I had a thought, though I can't remember if I actually suggested it, or if it was just in my head -- but, why not have another section called "Other Toy Photos" or something to that effect? It could be below Photos but above Reviews on the main page.

I know it's been difficult to get new sections added to this site in the past, so I wouldn't hold my breath expecting it to happen -- but I think it would be a nice way to please everyone.

I love my star wars and I really get them out to take pics b/c there isn't a site like this set up to post them.I do have a flickr acc but some pics are missed.I don't like doing alot of clicking so I have the photos section on 90 pic/page and tab only the pics I want to see close up.I don't want to go to another page to see another 90.

what about putting them in "collections", since nobody puts the appropriate shots there anyway :D That way, everyone who doesn't want non-joe shots intruding in the regular "photos" section will be happy and those of us who may want to try something else can feel like they aren't annoying purists. This may also get people looking at some of the old "collections" shots...everyone can see Ender's insane collection :p

what about "exclusive non-joe verse" photos (like SIC DETH's signature or the lego project mentioned above) in the Collection section and joes exclusive and joe related photos (crossovers and photos without joes that has something to do with a dude's joeverse, etc...) in the Photos section?

I like this a lot assuming it's a possibility. Even if not on the front page I think the Joes should have their section and other lines a separate one.

I think there is to much drama over such a simple thing. Some of us get borred to get 2 or 3 pages back to see Joe purist pictures? That's internet, it would only take 2 minutes to be done. I don't like pictures sized more than 800x600, but I can understand that the resolution of my monitor (1024x768) isn't the standart anymore. Other than ask for a new section where pictures are sized 800x600 I just roll the picture to the side.

Look, I'm not trying to start a fight or something or even against anyone, but since the begining there were pictures including non-joe items. The mix of lines is normal, isn't it? So, when we see a picture of non-joe items we do the same when pictures that we don't like show up. Past it and go to the next who pleases you the most.

I like to see great pictures like Falcon's Chile where he can mix hundred lines and do a great job. To me if it is a good picture it deserves his place at JoeDios. Next step will be ask for a new section for 12" Joes, or for Sigma 6 Joes... Let it at the photo section and cool to me.

i like to see different action figures and toys from other universe to relax my eyes from everyday gi joe related stuff. posting atleast 2 times a month or not flooding the pictures section is a good thing so that we could appreciate all sorts of subject.

if the majority of my joedios friends here wants to establish a pure joedios concept then it's okay to me. too bad, i will not post any barbie related shots haha

Hehhe, but seriously, when I think of diorama, any other toy line becomes support for a Joe diorama. If anyone wants to be purist, then anything not Joe shouldn't be in it. Why limit to non-Joe figures then? There's some good non-Joe sets.

Anyway, I do not agree with a special day for non-Joe photos. I do worry about fragmenting the JD community by segmenting types of shots or themes to elsewhere on the site. There's enough of that going on with Flickr.

I definitely fall down on the side of anything goes (within reason)-- I just uploaded a pure SW animation after all! Well, not pure, since you can see a cable box housing, carpet, photoshop stuff, and even my LEG in the shot. So, if the photo sections were divided on a purist basis, I probably would not have known where to put it since it contains so many different elements and would have just given up altogether...

I'm not going to be super-strict about which toylines are "allowed", but I would like to see it be mostly Joe / military, or even stuff that works with the Joes. Like I just got the Thor and Captain America 3 3/4 figs from Comic-con, and I would totally put those up.
