I was thinking about making a simple custom Joe and/or Cobra figure, with a simple back story, not too specific of an MOS.

I'd snap a picture of this figure then send it to another fotographer on the site who would then take a picture of the figure and send it off to the next fotographer who would take a picture of it and send it on from there and so on and so on.

I'm not sure if our friends in South America, Asia or the land of Auss could get in on this simply because of the cost of shipping, tho I'm not sure what an individual figure would cost to send to those places.

Let me know if you guys want to try this. I'll try to come up with a figure.

We did this on JBL last year......took 3 figures and set 3 teams........figures went across the US and 2 of them went international. I ended up only getting 2 of them back but it was fun to see people post up their pics......

The cavat to this is, if you are going to participate, make sure to follow through-its a real bummer when somebody says 'yes' and then doesn't keep the momentum rolling...

It was 2 years ago (or did it finally finish up last year?). I remember wanting to participate but because my wife was in China with the camera, couldn't. That was 2008. I'm always up for taking pics of the little guys around the lab area.

Yup, but the time the 2nd figure got back to me, it was last year.......I got Destro and Wild Weasel back......Ace is still MIA.......

I'd prolly try to send it to the known members of the forum. Folks who post pictures four or five times a week maybe, just so we know who they are, and that they'll post pictures of the figure to keep it rolling and send it on to the next member. This won't exclude the new guys because some of the newer members do tend to post often.

Blood For the Baron have run something similar with Muton (known as the Mutour ;)

Have a look here (links to participants' images at the bottom of the page):

and a few pics combined on the same page:

Might be interesting to have each participant shoot part of a story line (which they can make up), like the kids game where each one writes a sentence that the next has to follow on from...? Otherwise simply seeing the sights in each participant's location would still be cool.

Anyway sounds like fun :)

I kinda figure a Chuckles might make for a good figure for this. CIA agent gets to travel all over the world. Shipwreck too might be another good one.

I might be interested, but it just depends on the figure. A custom figure.. that would be interesting.

Maybe the custom could be a Zartan.. that way one figure could be a Joe or Cobra.. depending on the photographer.

Would this be a dio background shot, or more like a traveling postcard shot?

Both.
Put the figure into a dio, but let the background be reflective of your area. Or take a pictures of him standing infront of local land mark. What ever you'd like.

Yeah, I'm still planning on doing this, I'm waiting on some parts to make a unique custom for this.

Simply put, memebers of the site will take a picture of a figure and pass it on to the next member.

I've come up with a custom figure for this. I made it a pretty simple LBC because it'll be easy to replace if it gets broken and it'll less like to be "stolen" by someone who doesn't want to pass it on.

Here's the rules:

Take at least two pictures of the figure to post. One picture should be with a landmark represntative of your area, something that says where you are. The other is just a typical picture that would normally be posted on the site like part of dio, or just posed somewhere, something along those lines.

You have one week from when you recieve the figure to take the picture then send it on. We don't want the next person in line to be sitting around for a month waiting for their turn. If you get the figure and for one reason or another can't get a picture taken, send it on to the next person and add your name back to the list. Communication is key here. Let the person who sent you the figure know you got it, let the next person know it's on its way.

Sorry new guys, but this only open to people who have established themselves on the site and post on a regular basis. 300 post or more. This is just simply because we need to know that the figure will get passed along as well as those who post on the site with regularity have established a reputation here. Think of it like eBay feedback.

Once the list is made, all you need to do is send a PM to the next person on the list and get their address.

As far as our Aussie, European and South American friends, you guys are more than welcome to participate, just keep in mind shipping may be a bit more to get the figurre to you. Truthfully, I've never sent a figure to another country, so I'm not sure how much more it'll cost.

Keep in mind if you wish to participate, you are responsable for the cost of shipping the figure to the next person in line. I've mailed off many figures and cost of the envelope plus shipping has never been more then about $3.00 US. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR SHIPPING, PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST TO PARTICIPATE.

If you want to participate, but don't want to wait for the figure to get to you, you can make the figure yourself and take the pictures and post them. It's a real simple LBC that I'm sure most people have the parts for, but it must me made of the exact same parts in order to participate.

Once the list gets a few people on it, I'll reveal the figure as well as their backstory etc.

There is no deadline to sign up for this as it'll be an on-going thing for a while (though, I would eventually like to get the figure back).

I am glad I saw this post, I have a custom figure I have been working on and is finally finished. I have talked to a couple of people that said they were interested in the idea. This is based on Marcos idea a while back. I will make the first post in a couple of days and a thread for anyone interested in joining in.
