OK my GI Joe brothers, I am taking the leap of faith. In these trying economic times I am expanding my business. My wife Julie and I have decided to open a brick and mortar store. We have been selling toys online for 5 years now and it has absolutely take over our house. We rented a old house in downtown Melbourne, Florida that has been converted into a store. This is something we have wanted to do for a couple of years now.

We will specialize in vintage toys, GI Joes, Star Wars, Transformers, etc and also Dollhouse Miniatures. So all the cool tools and gadgets I have offered up here will be in our store. I plan to make diorama scenes to display Joe & SW figures for sale in, rather than just in display cases. Dioramas will also be for sale as well. I closed my online store about 3 years ago and have been doing business on ebay ever since. Our ebay store will remain open. I will open a website in a few weeks with info on our new shop. We will also take orders by phone and offer a action figure finding service for rare items or even not so rare. We will also do consignment and purchasing of figure collections. Everyone says they wished they had a store in their area that sold vintage Joes and such, well I hope there are enough people around here that want that too! :) Any ideas of what you think you would like to see in a toy store would be appreciated. There is alot of creative talent here and I would love your suggestions!

We are located less than an hour from Disney and 5 minutes from the beach. So if you ever spend your vacation in Orlando or Central Florida, make sure to make our shop part of your plans!

My picture posting will be very slim to non-existent for a while, but I will be back as soon as we are set up and running. Wish me luck! :D Dave

The website will be HERE (http://www.thehobbyhouse.net/) Bookmark it! :D

good to know, we'll definatly stop by, like I said before, my dad works for Melbourne, he's the Fire Investigator. I am still somewhat familiar with the area, so I shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Best of luck with the store Dave, I hope it all goes brilliantly for you! Being a Melbourne boy myself (Melbourne, Australia that is!) I'd love to drop by, but it's just a little too far to go! :)
