This is going to sound stupid. What version of Photoshop do you use? Where the H can I find it? No one around here carries it in any stores. Online I have seen it go for $700!!! My sister wants to get it for me for Fathers Day, she can't find it anywhere. Please help, thanks, Dave

Hey Vader.
Photoshop is expensive.. ;)
I don't have it. Mainly because it costs so much, I use something similar called photoplus.
Photoshop (http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-23102480-Photoshop-CS3/dp/B000NDIBYG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1213391067&sr=8-3)

It's an expensive fathers day present.

Dave, I use Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4 home edition, which came bundled free with my scanner. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. You can pick it up for less than a twenty on ebay if you're lucky!

The open source equivalent to photoshop is a program called GIMP. You should be able to download it for free off of the internet.

I have found it online, I can't believe it is so much money. I figured it was some professional version, and there might be a consumer version for less. That is crazy $600+! Thats almost as much as a computer! Fagetaboutit!

Hey don't give up man, i think you should take a leaf out of the guys here and look for alternatives such as photoplus or similar,
you can get some great software packages for image manipulation that do a good job. I have to completely agree with you vader $600 is way over priced.

You can get Photoshop Elements for $99.

Personally, I use Fireworks, for the vector tools. Helps a lot with my speech balloons.

I actually had PS Elements, a few years back, it must have been the first version. It was very hard to use. I started using Photo Explosion which is a very basic editing tool. I want to be able to add things to my photos. Like aircraft in the sky & muzzle flashes to guns, smoke & tire & tank track movement.

Dave,
Look for an older version of Photoshop on Ebay. I used to use Photoshop 6 & 7,
and they are going cheap on ebay last I looked! But I got in a bad habit of using PaintShop Pro. PaintShop Pro costs around $100 and is available at Fry's on the west coast and Best Buy. There is NOTHING I could do with Photoshop that I can't do with PaintShop Pro.

Ahem. I have PS 6 & 7 but I find I use my crappy old Arcsoft PhotoStudio more since I know how to use it. I DO switch between programs to get what I want. Actually, about 3 programs really. You can imagine how fun that is! Alt+Tab, Alt+Tab, Alt+Tab...

So in conclusion I take it ALT + Tab is the preferred method for switching windows then? :o

Like you Rich, I have multipe things open so it's faster to do it that way than use the mouse. I like to work fast so...
