just like the topic says. do you think the 25th doing as well as it is and the upcoming movie will make the price of the old ARAH joes go up? i, myself am split on this. i have saw some old joes go for less then a buck, even got some pretty good vehicles for 5$ shipping included. at the same time i have saw major altitude go for 17$ plus, 3 days after i got one for a little over a dollar.
maybe its just luck of the draw and the ones i buy are the ones most people dont come across. even so, i am trying to get most of the figures i know hasbro will not make in the 25th style, like cloudburst, switch gears and others before the prices do go up. anyone else doing this?

I think for a while they will go down (except the rare ones). And then pick up as the 25th gets more and more figures.
At first I think buyers are gonna be like
"Man, $24.00 for a Breaker? I'll just get a 25th to bolster my team, they're only $9.99 WITH a destro!"
And Sellers will realize they can't make a killing. But then again, a lot of sellers on Ebay aren't smart anyway! They will take a figure that is worth maybe $20.00, and mark him up, then absorb the carrying cost of the Ads....
I mean C'mon.....$49.99 for a Headhunter Stormtrooper...who's gonna pay that? It'll set there until they're store goes out of business because they don't wanna make a deal! Same thing with these fools who pushed up the Real Estate Market! They all bought TONS of houses cheap, put thousands into them and now they're stuck with them, but rather than sell them at a loss for something, they'll hold on to them, asking skyhigh prices until the house falls apart and they have nothing. Greed is the root of all evil!

I used to actually sell 12" Dragon and 21st Century, (and some 12" Joes) on-line and through eBay. This was early on in eBay, when you could use them to drive traffic to your own site, so long as they got their cut on listings. Then their pricing structure changed and they became quite teutonic in their letting you link to your own site...they wanted all commerce to come through them...but that is another topic... ;)
Even back then, I would have some figures sell right at cost, or below cost, and then the next week have one sell for triple what it did the week before. It wasn't me price gouging, just the auction frenzy. I always listed the same starting price. Weird.
So I don't know how the market will affect 25th vs regular. But I do know a lot of folks are cutting their "discretionary expenditures" significantly.
As for me, I'm going to stick with what I have for now. I need to put a new roof on my house more than I need more figures...

Amen Frank!! I also think that i depends on the figure. I got a complete tele viper and muskrat in separate buys for $2.51. One penny on the bid and $2.50 shipping. I don't think that you will see figures like Starduster or the 83 viper glider pilot go down in price at all.
Course the Joe market might do the same thing that the Transformer market did right before the movie. The general public starts to remember the good old days of G.I. Joe and BOOM, Joe sales on Ebay will skyrocket for a few months and then dwindle down to what they are now.

Since Arah isn't made anymore. The figures will go up in value. A tomohawk complete sells for 169 dollars on ebay. The movie is another qustion. I haven't liked the still photos I've seen. I think the movie will bomb. Then you'll see value plummet.
