to me there are far more appealing bad guys then good guys, so this one was hard. for me it came down between megatron (everyone knows hes major badda@@), skelator (come on, his look is evil personified), and darksied (this man is the one bad guy who makes super man shake like the girl scout he is). in the end i had to go with skelator. the 0% body fat and a skull for a head. hes like the grim reaper on steroids.

I had to go with Megatron. He's always seemed more hardcore than Cobra Commander. And man, he RIPPED Jazz IN HALF in the movie!!! That's just some nasty Sh*t going on there!

I love Megatron and Skeletor, but I had to go with ol' Cobra Commander on this one. I love the voice, the look, and the characterization in both the TV show and comics (for different reasons, of course).

As much as I love Cobra Commander, and I do, I went with Megatron. He KILLED Optimus Prime, as well as SEVERAL other Autobots. As a kid, seeing that for the first time, I knew I'd hate him forever. His name continued to instill fear in TF lore throughout history, and within every continuity. Megatron is the baddest-ass villain ever!

This was a tough one, but I went with Megatron. CC was tainted by the movie and the levels of ineptitude and cowardice assigned to him over the series. Skeletor was one of the first Big Bads I got to know but he's just that little bit too camp, and ended up being somewhat emasculated with the introduction of Hordak and Horde Prime into the mythos.
Megatron, though, was always very much in charge even when there were ambitious subordinates to deal with as well as enemies. He slaughtered a bunch of Autobots within the first 5 minutes of the movie and went on to fatally injure Prime, then while battered and broken himself he even showed defiance in the face of a talking planet-god! You can't get much more badass than Megs!

I went with Megatron, simply from the toon categorization of the Poll.
Megatron had a pretty steady personality of solid evil from comic to toon and back again.
Though I would put CC a close second, he was quite what I expected of him in the comic, but somewhat flip-flopping in the toon. One moment hatching an evil scheme to wreak havoc, the next minute crying like a schoolgirl and begging Destro to save him. Instead of cowardly interactions, they could have had CC saying things like: "You will regret this day," or "I will have my revenge."
Of course, killing robots and killing humans are lines not to be blurred in mainstream 'toons... Creators can do the first, but not the second... You never saw Cobras strafing Ace's chute after he ejected, watching him tumble to the earth at terminal velocity. And really, you wouldn't want to...
I would have answered this CC hands down in the '80s though. Even now, a close second...
