Destro vs Destro?

So... There are two Destros available in the stores now under the 25A banner and back in the day, there were a couple too. Regular v1 hard-headed Destro and the v2 version that sported the gold head. To you, which is your fave and at the same time, which do you tend to use more?

I ask because I've been seeing a LOT of gold Destros running around here and far more than v1s be it 25A or ARAH. I've always considered the v1 to be the Destro, not so much the expansionist IG version.

I think the gold-headed Destro is really cool, and he looks noble and ceremonial, which helps him fit as the leader of his own faction.

But in my own Joe world, Destro doesn't lead his own faction. He has the IGs, but they're a small personal army tasked with protecting Castle Destro and all of M.A.R.S.'s factories. Destro spends most of his time with Cobra, in the same capacity as in the early comics and the TV show.

I could see him donning the gold-helmet uniform for formal occasions, but for everyday-wear, he has his v1/v3 outfit.

Can't really decide, because v1 one is a myth, but the gold headed was the first I owned, and so it has a special appeal for me; besides, it is an incredibly cool figure :D

I've always considered the gold-headed version two to be the best Destro. Gotta love that shiny chrome dome. Plus, it always looks great in photos, and allows for some nice reflection effects. :)

Tough choice for me.........

v1 is my default.......and has always been a personal favorite since I have guided him for the past 25 years in mine and Flint's Joeverse.....

However, I just got the v2 at the last JoeCon we went to.......and I've done a bit of a custom.......(which you guys will see soon, I promise)......so I'm in a bit of a conundrum.........

Like in the final 25 or so issues of the comic! I made such a Destro some time ago, but he was dismantled and used for other purposes. Maybe I'll do it again with the 25th version though...

I LOVE THE IDEA OF DESTRO HAVING HIS OWN FACTION AND THE REGAL LOOK TO THE GOLD VERSION IS (IMO) TENS TIME BETER THEN THE V1 OR ANY OTHER VERSION. ENDERS PIMP DADDY DESTRO IS A CLOSE SECOND :p

That pretty much sums it up for me too. Plus, I was a huge fan of the Iron Grenadiers (got every figure and vehicle back in the day.)

v2 Destro is my favorite.Like you all,it's because of the Iron Grenadiers that I like this version best.

I like both. The v1 type is the everyday out-and-about Destro, whereas the v2 is the fearless gallant IG leader. For castle shots I go with IG and pretty much everything else I use v1. Although I have PDD, he's got no real place in my Joe-verse.

I also like both. For meetings and deal transactions, I go with v.2. For battles and "wet work" I go with version 1. Gotta love the wrist rockets!

I believe TG or Sonne made my favorite "hybrid" version I have seen, V.2 body with v.1 wrist rocket arms...

I prefer V1 Destro. That is his iconic look to me. The IG version is nice, but it's secondary for me.
