Thought I'd give you my thought processes when doing "Transformations". THis is based on Ender's dio post.

...When I did the first episode, it was supposed to be a joke. Throw Snake Eyes into the transformation chamber and bam, you get a NEW version of SE. That's how Hasbro really does their figures, y'know? But I got a lot of feedback about what was going to happen. Now, in terms of that 1st episode, I was just having some fun in terms of using Ghost Bear (an underused character or was it because Luke Ellison used him too???) and Overkill. It was also setting up my universe just a tad. I also wanted to use RazorClaw and show off my whopping 4 Razor Troopers too.

The next episodes, I wanted to introduce Lt. Graydon who I feel is a great figure and character. He's an all-around character and I thought he'd add a lot to my Joe universe. It would also take characters/figures that have been used a lot or people don't care for. ie; DUKE. To an extent, Flint and Hawk too. The story was to take Joes who would be good in this particular situation and I wanted a pretty serious team. Stalker, Beach Head, Snake Eyes, Footloose, Gung Ho and Bombstrike. Some are fan favorites. I wanted a specific team; Stalker in 2nd spot, Beach Head to make sure people stay on the straight, Snake Eyes, Footloose and Bombstrike as extra firepower and Gung Ho as THE firepower.

I didn't quite mean to, but as Bombstrike is a new character to everyone, I wanted her to be the newbie and a relationship grew with Gung Ho who ended up caring for her like a sister. I wanted to also prove that a dio could be done without using mainstays like Cobra Commander, Destro, and Duke.

By Episode5 (which was originally the sequel to Transformations), I still had story to tell and wanted to go back into that adventure, a bit like Resident Evil2. There were gratitious cameo scenes; Hawk, Dart, Duke, etc but they still weren't the main focus. It starts off with LowLight and Bombstrike. 2 people.

I wanted to do a cat & mouse scene with the two Joes and the 4 hybrid Saw Vipers. And then flashback stories with GhostBear and the NeoVipers as well as Major Bludd and Vipers. I also wanted to tell the story of just where the creatures came from (ala The Mist) and what really happened. Add a couple of aliens and their Armored Troopers and BAM, we have a gnarly adventure on our hands. I also cleared up that Footloose and Snake Eyes weren't killed originally.

THEN the big battle takes place in Seattle, under the EMP (gee, imagine that!). Again, it'd be a small squad that went in and well, the ending was pretty sub-par. I did the George Lucas and kinda forgot what I was doing. I wanted to show off Storm Shadow with proper sword-fighting action but Snake Eyes was supposed to be a little more violent and less finesse involved. I also wanted to show off Major Barrage and Graydon again.

The kicker? Because of the aliens ability to teleport at will (no, they aren't mutants, they have their lil devices in their suits), they didn't actually die in the energy beam. That's just FYI in case they ever come back.

The epilogue was only used to show that Gray Wolf wasn't dead and he was a survivor. It was also a chance to give Flint, Switch Gears, Wild Bill, Spirit and Tunnel Rat some love. (I'd love to use Tunnel Rat but i need a decent figure.) And then, the Cobra side was to set up for "The Island" which was never finished up.
