Had a minor haul today at Target: ROC Flash, Armored Scarlett, Paris Pursuit Storm Shadow (unmasked, no long coat) and Pit Commando. Passed on Hawk. Overall I am quite pleased with all of them. I am thinking Pit Commando makes me think of Deep Six with the boonie hat on, and no armor. Its a very solid, well done figure.

Today I got a bunch of parts from the 1992 GIJoe Headquarters I needed to build upon my Shadowloo Headquarters to make a Cobra Battlefield Fortress.

Because y'see, when Hasbro issued the Shadaloo Fortress, they didn't include ALL the parts from the original tooling. The front perimiter, rear maintenance bay, top gunner's nest, guard rails, all guns/missile launchers beyond the double-barrelled one, etc. were all left out.

Now I've got pretty much everything I need to have the fortress look whole. I'm just missing the gunner's nest, one piece of guard railing and the fuel nozzle and accompanying hose.
Given it's taken me over two years just getting the initial pieces I needed... I'm in for a long wait. :(

Got my hands on some ROC toys. Bought the Armored Panther, Eel, and Paris Pursuit Baroness.

Never had an Armadillo so I was happy to get my hands on the AP. Managed to remove the side mounted launchers.

LOVE the Eel. Gives off an evil-Navy SEALs kinda vibe.

Baroness is cool. I'm going to use her in my Joeverse as Chameleon. Only complaints are her head seems kinda big and its impossible to get her to sit thanks to that skirt.

Two ROC Cobra EEL with Wave Crusher, Target exclusive, join my forces. I was going to buy a third, but I really think I should wait for the next paycheck, in which I also plan to get the other exclusives and the Rhino. After buying 24 Resolute Troopers, I'm feeling a pinch in the weekly budget. Don't like that feeling.

Heh, I apologize. I hadn't either before today, I was so excited when I turned the corner and saw her right on the front of the peg.

Initially when I came in, I didn't find anything that led me to believe that wave was here yet. The display up front was loaded with exclusives and stuff, all wave one and two RoC stuff, and then in the back of one of the pegs, I found a general hawk! So I hurried back into the store deeper to find those up there. I left like 4 pit commandos and one helix I think.

What's weird is that at two different Targets, I've seen the Eel from the Helix wave, but no one else! I don't know how many of each figure come in a case, but it seems odd to me that people are buying all the Hawks, Flashes, Helixes, and Pit Commandos, but leaving one Eel behind.

Scarlett's head looks pretty good on that body, though I find that I actually prefer the "reactive armor" version better. Personally, I'd like to see a "Paris Pursuit" Scarlett -- Rachel Nichols wore that jacket and jeans very nicely! And it would be a perfect body for an LBC Cover Girl that would be more accurate to the original.

P.S.: I feel bad for poor Firefly, but at least his head has something comfortable to rest on before he goes... ;)

As for RoC Scarlett's head, Im using that for a cover girl custom (If I can't secure DTC Cover girl parts).

with ROC fig @ $5 a pop I had to dip into my savings before they were all gone.They were well picked over as it was.I was able to get 7 Neo Vipers,Baroness,SS(masked),Purple Neo viper,Destro,Heavy Duty.Wanted to get Ripcord but no where to be seen.There is still a couple of Dukes left so I might get some on pay day.

The accelerator suit one.There were lots there when they first came in and I had other things I had to use my money on.Waited too late to get him.
The MARS troopers are still $30 CDN before shipping and still lots around.

yeah i say that too. must get a few of those . i have 3 25th snow serpents and 2 arctic hiss drivers (thanks to outrider/craig) cheers again for those 2 . those exclusive ones look pretty nice btw did you see the joecon international figure exclusives the AF version of the fang with Hawk(tripwire repaint) and a whole bunce of argintinian and brazilian repaints of classic chars .

I picked up the PAthfinder,Ice Digger and snake Trax.

Since noone really said anything about the ice digger I will say my thoughts.

Straight up repaint.Its almost a really cool Cobra Color blue.I almost decided not to put the joe stickers on it and get some cobra stickers for it.I will be getting the Artic HISS so thats the only reason I didn't.
Anyone who reads my post know I like real firing missles.It has 4 and shoots 2 at a time from the pop up attack cabin. No lights and sounds but oh well.
You can fit 7 figures in/on it. 2 in the driving station, 1 in the front gunner station,1 in the pop up station,2 on the foot pegs on the sides oif the vehicle and 1 in the rear hatch that opens.

Its a slick looking vehicle and reconmend getting one.

frostbite is a repaint of the winter Snake eyes without the acc he has.Just a generic black masked head on him.
He would be perfect for a simple head swap for a snow team.

9/10 I don't give 10/10 but this would be close.Pic tomorrow as its my day off.

Although the review of the Dragonhawk pretty much stated everything about it... I completely disagree about it being "worth it". The Dragonhawk is small, no question about it... but I think its awesome for a "light attack/infiltration copter". I fully intend to get atleast one or two more.

Haven't been actively posting on this thread, but I've been actively getting Joes. Just Got a Special Mission Brazil Wet Suit off of ebay. Got a BAT V1, CG Immortal, Dusty '91, and a Night Creeper V1 from a local toy shop that just moved into town as well as some odds and ends accessories for free for helping the owner fix some broken Joes.

The big score is that I just finished a deal with a guy here in town who is selling me his whole collection of 75 figures and 43 vehicles for $2 a figure and $5 a vehicle. :eek: Vehicle lot includes a Mostly complete Whale, Moray, Skystriker, Conquest X30, 2 APC's, STUN, Rattler, Snake armor, Thunder machine. Happy Birthday to me a month early. :D :D :D

That happened to me a few years ago,I bought a Cllassic Series Hillbilly Jim but someone swapped out the RA body for a R3 body and you couldn't see the difference until you took him out of the package.I wasn't going to travel back to halifax(about an hour drive) to exchange him.

I do agree it shouldn't be done. But they retailers pay up to a 3% in insurance to cover stuff like that. In the end if it doesn't sell they can send it back as damaged,opened,or just as a return unless the item is NR non returnable which with hasbro it usually never is nr. Its still wrong but retailers don't get screwed its the common joe fan that gets screwed. Maybe hasbro should repackage all the 5 figure sets separately since most of us want just one fig out of it any ways. I do agree with roland its not larceny or grand theft its not like you held the people up. It costs hasbro nothing to produce figures the cost is usually in the making the molds then after that the produce hundreds of pieces in minutes for cents to sell them for 9 bucks a pop. No one ever really wins in this game called life unless you play unfair. Just giving my two cents since I was a retail manager for 8 years and my dad is a mold maker. hopefully I don't piss anyone off with my opinion. :) cheers DD

I got Reactive Armor Ripcord and Accelerator suit Duke today at TRU. The Ripcord has a great body, but the head sits a bit high, kind of like the Duke one that I have been passing on. That is the first ROC Duke I have gotten. I also saw the SRO pack with Grunt and Speed Metal? It was the goofy ass Serpentor bald head on a golden-y colored accelerator suit. The Grunt looked to be a straight up Zartan in disguise repaint. Pass all day long on all those SRO packs so far.

ROC Para-Viper

Note: this paraviper is almost the same as the earlier 25th style, but as you all can see of the many photos out there, it's mostly black, with dark grey, and some dark red highlights. But the differences are a bit more. Firstly the hoses are silver, yet when you remove them (as I was doing), you can see they are molded from a ruby-red transparent plastic. It should be interesting to see a custom paraviper with ruby red hoses.

The padding on the elbows seem to be of a slightly softer plastic than the previous version. The goggles on the helmet is of a more translucent paint, and also ruby-red. The ammo clips on the leg, above the knife is the only real con.. it kinda gets in the way of the knife if you want to fully straighten the leg. The previous paraviper had the clips on the other leg. There is a hole through the chute right through the cobra sigil, which I don't like. But it's there and I suspect that the spring-rocket shooter (which resembles some sort of flying assisting machine) can attach there. There's a very very long peg that seems to fit into the hole.

The spring-rocket shooter thing looks good without the projectile. There's a helicopter style mini-blade that fits into a hole in the shooter, and it rotates freely. With the extra long peg and the hole in the backpack, it makes me suspect that this paraviper uses the shooter as some sort of flying assisting machine, as mentioned above. The helicoper blade doesn't make sense--too small--but the shooter kinda looks like an aerodynamic rocket pack. But I haven't figured how the figure is supposed to grab the handle bars.

The Extreme Condition 7 packs were ordered from Smalljoes.com. The Rite Aid ones seem to be $21 for each, that's $42, not including 8% sales tax. The SmallJoes one is both for $35, then shipping. The Smalljoes order comes out a bit better than buying from Rite Aid, but I think only if you don't have any previous Extreme Conditions. I don't have any previous ones, so had to get both to see/know what they do offer for my Cobra. So now I am interested in buying another two sets from SmallJoes, then plan to just buy the desert one at Rite Aid if I can find them locally here.

I GOT THE PIT!! Whoo-hoo, holy crap this thing is frakkin' big, took me 3 hours to put it together and apply the stickers, and I didn't even put them all on. I got it parked right now out in the driveway, but seriously this thing is cool, lots of photo ops. I NEVER would have bought this thing for myself, thanks to the greatest wife in the world. Also got the Night Raven, isn't it suppose to be black? Mine is blue! Been harassing the kids all night chasing them around the house shooting them with missiles. Nothing irritates teenagers more than their father acting younger than them. Can't wait to set up the PIT for a massive photo shoot!

Guess i was lucky enough to beat the local evil bay scalp(her)..Definately wouldnt mind a few more Night adders in my collection, they have a really great vest that has soo many possibilities. Of course, the new subdued color Paravipers are going to work well for some night insertion shots in working on..

I got an unusual assist from a scalper today! I ran into this guy last weekend at TRU right as it opened, he bought up all the TRU exclusive SRO three packs and after I got mine all the attack on the pit sets! He was fairly plesent but a scalper none the less! This morning I ran into him again at opening and he sold me a Rex and a arctic snake eyes he had picked up remembering that thats who I was looking for also once inside the store he gave me the Pit Commando he grabbed off the shelf cause I wanted him! He also has the manager putting aside a case of the Snow Serpent and Benchpress exclusives when they come in and told me he would set aside some for me if I wanted next Saturday! Now I feel bad, I hate scalpers but this guy is using his connections/skills to help me out when I didn't even ask him too! :confused:

And at the same time, this one could be an asset to secure some loot. Like you, Scuba Steve, I have mixed feelings on this. I lost my chance to get a Target exclusive MOBAT earlier last year when suddenly all 8 sets (at $54 each) were gone when I went back there to buy one. I know there's a scalper running around here and might have seen him in action a few times.

Anyway, I am frustrated with this TRU and Target, and all the Walmarts in this here city-town. Nothing new and they don't intend to get new stuff for a while. TRU here is stocking up on Christmas items, but concentrating on their Babies-R-Us stock.

I guess, take advantage of this scalper and make him into an ally (sp?) to assist in getting the stuff you need. Better to have him on your side than competition.

Collecting Joes now days is really cut-throat business.

According to that limp dick manager he must have used his crystal ball to figure it out cause (of course) he didn't tip him off or anything! So with a hardy middle finger and a thank you very much I came away with 2 Pit Commandos (bringing my total to 5) and 2 Elite Vipers (bringing my total to 8)

Damn that scalper, he now has an enemy in me!!!!

THERE IS ALOT DETAIL MOLDED INTO THEM AND IT'S MADE FROM SOME STURDY FOAM MATERIAL DEFFINEATELY CAST MOLDED. Since I'll be using Jungle Ripcord as the base body for a different character custom, I decided to go ahead and get Reactive Armor Ripcord so I could have a Ripcord without an Accelerator Suit.

Hopefully he'll be the only full-Reactive Armor-costumed figure I get, so it doesn't get redundant.
He does have a cool batch of weapons though, not to mention a useful spring-loaded cannon.

I made an error. In my previous post, I had not purchased the rescue mission exclusive. I did that today. Whatever it was with the mole pod, it was an exclusive from TRU. It's got that neo-viper officer.

Today, I finally did score on the rescue mission exclusive from Target. Snake Eyes in it looks good. Duke is kinda weird, and the neo-vipers are kinda blue.

Also finally got a gunship. I like it, and it'll need a new paint scheme.

My weekly visit to TRU update:

As I have for the last month or so I headed to my local TRU this morning for the 9 AM toy stampede and once again no scalper guy but lots of empty exclusive holes as evidence of his latest buy out of yet again another weeks worth of exclusives. :mad: Unfortunately no Pit Commandos for me today and I think I have had my fill of Elite Vipers for now so, needing to get my toy fix for the week, I picked up a Joe Senior officers pack for the hell of it! On my way out I decided to head over to another TRU here in town because my Joe fix just wasn't satisfied Yet.
Bingo, finally scored me a Bench Press! Although they had alot of the Snow Serpents as well I passed on em. I have so many of the other ones I didn't really see the need to get more just for a camoflage suite instead of the light grey one.

Well so long Scalper scum and Failed at life toy store manager, I am done with you for now! Next week the Scuba Squad sets it's sites on Target and the elusive Rescue Mission set!

Went to Big Lots and snagged the new PTE bombed-out building! They also had some of the newer stuff as well as the old Command Post. It was $30. You get 6 Marines, an ATV, a motorcycle, and some other gear. Made me feel good after having a really bad day.

Carlito sent me a ROC Breaker since I never seen him around. I owe him a bunch of random doodads and goodies.

I checked TRU today for BenchPress and he was not there. :( So I bought some Hot Wheels cars for Thomas as well as a few... Well, you'll see. NOthing GI Joe related, mind you. lol
