The Target Range (group project) REVAMPED : June Listing

The Target Range is already evolving. Instead of 2x a week, it'll be 3x a week! That means more work for YOU but more characters to take shots at! Rant and rave baby!

So here's how it'll work. The character affiliations go back and forth. SINCE we started with Cobra, the routine is cobra-joe-cobra-joe-etc. Sure, there are affiliations like Oktober Guard, Headman and his Head Huntes, Serpentor and Coil... But we can look at them easier as "good guys" and "bad guys"

Posting days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday (theme week stuff are now Sat/Sun). People sign up for a particular day AND choose who they want to do!

We only need 1 decent shot of the character standing on the Target Range. Preferably, a picture that can show the figure in all it's glory. If they dont' have their original accessories, that's fine. I'd have to hit yojoe.com to see what half my figures actually came with, y'know? AND don't be like me and shoot the back of their heads! ;)

As before... It's suggested that fairly specific words are used. This way, a member, be it new or old can type in "TR" or "Target Range" and see who has been done. Theme week follows the same idea so people can review the different theme weeks in big bunches.

The Target Range is a group project. It came about from a few discussions on the forums. People sign-up for a day and affiliation; they choose what character to shoot. The characters are posted MWF and are our target for our rants and raves.

It's kind of a mixed bag tho it is NOT a review of the figure by the person who posted it. If wanted reviews, we can go over to JBL and read Fred and Justin's takes on 'em. It is 'our' own thoughts on the figure and the character. Take a look thru the other Target Range victims to see how 'we' really feel about a character.

Awhile back, Tilman Goins attempted the same sort of thing but his site disappeared and never got very far. Todd tried his Character of the Week on Magnum6Delta but it never went very far either.

Assuming you have your joedios browser set to 15 images (when you hit photos), you should be able to easily find the Wednesday's Target. And tomorrow sometime, Outrider will be posting Friday's Target.

If you want in, I'd be happy to give up my spot. (I'm scheduled to do a Cobra, in this case DTC Major Bludd. But if you want it, you can pick any Cobra or bad guy assuming they haven't already been done or will be done.)

I got my unrated for $20! GAR! I hate it when dvds go down in price. Then again, I've watched it so many times that it's paid itself off. NOT that it took much. And yes, that's Pinky. I have a dvd capture so it's fun to play around with.

Holy cow, is it already mid-June??? If I remember, I'll post a July sign-up. Anyone wants to jump on can! All you need is a camera and GI Joe figs. Give or take a computer and a cable. Errrrr, maybe a keyboard too.

I just realized I'm this Friday. Wow. I did a few Major Bludd 1-shots a couple of nites ago (when finishing up Chapter4) and well, looks like I'll have to use 1 for the Target Range. I think I know which one I'll use. As for the others, I'll hold off until later because to an extent it reveals Chapter4 and part of Ep2.

I'm screwed for about the next 2 months. I went out last week to work on some shots and broke my camera like an idiot. :mad:

I KNOW how you feel man
I broke my camera last month & wasnt able to post the targetrange for Firefly
and a bunch of other cool ideas I had lined up...

in the meantime just give feedback on the photos that you DO see posted up
you might come up with better ideas for future shots too :D

The list has been written up. I was gonna wait till the 26th to post it. If you guys want a crack at it earlier, I can post it sooner. I figured that it's barely end of the month. (I actually wrote it up a week and a half ago.)

Sorry guys, but I had made a mental note for today rather than yesterday... :confused:

And by the time I'd realized, it was too late, since I was working since sundown (yay I'm finally employed, btw) so I couldn't take the figure out and snap some pics. At least none that'd look good. :(

Luckily today was a sunny, sunny day, so I took the figure out and got some nice pics. So the target range'll just be a day late. :p

Someone pointed out several weeks ago that I had gotten the dates wrong so I fixed 'em up and hoped people noticed. If not, it's really no big deal. July should be correct in terms of dates. :D
