View Full Version : Enough for me! I'm out!

Well, Ladies and Gents,
As Donna Summer once said “Enough is Enough!” That’s right, after a little over a year, I’m leaving!
Before you read on, if the shoe doesn’t fit, ignore what I’m saying…if it strikes a chord in you….you’re probably one of the people I’m talking about!
I’ve seen this website go from a place to share Ideas and encourage creativity to small groups of individuals some of whom have issues with their own self esteem so deep they need therapy and can’t be happy unless they are causing hate and discontent among those I have chose to befriend on here! And if it’s not these individuals, it’s the constant trolls who have driven our Mods so crazy they are chastising us for pointing out the trolls just to keep the peace. I HAVE NEVER seen as many locked threads as I have in the last months. You can’t ask how someone is doing without it being taken that you’re up to no good.
And the Photos….If I comment good, I’m “Playing Favorites” if I’m giving someone advice, I’m “ragging on their shots”. If I can’t open my mouth without getting it slapped shut, then It’s time for me to leave!
I came here to share stories and photos and get advice on how to do things with my collection that would justify owning it, but now, mostly what I see are huge fragile egos wanting to fight or at the very least drive a wedge between people on the site.
I take my Share of the blame. My stuff is packed and I’m bored. I don’t think anyone here wants to see pictures of boxes. I rode the Troll thread into the ground and still do. Can you blame me? For OVER a year, the SAME person keeps coming back and starts the same crap. Tried warning….didn’t work…..tried banning…didn’t work…..tried helping….still didn’t work…I figured we were all entitled to a little laugh on him. And now, knowing he’s back, I inquire trying to find out what makes him as he is…trying to be understanding, and I get accused of stirring up sh!t. Oh well.
I’m just tired. Tired of the fragile egos that need constant stroking, tired of people who can take neither compliment nor criticism, and tired of trying to help out only to be told what an ass I am. Like my dad said about hunting, “when it quit being fun, I quit”.
There are a lot of good people still on here. I just hope you can bring this site back to what it was when I came here a year ago. I hope you have a higher crap tolerence than I do. Don't let the.....uhm....."individuals" ruin it for you like they did for me!
To my Friends, see ya on MSN…..Soon, I’m hoping to get my own site. I was thinking of a public site, then private to keep what happened here from happening there, but in the end, I think it’ll be half and half….public site, private forum.I’ll keep ya posted via MSN! See ya around!
FINALLY!!! AFTER 9 HOURS OF “THE SERVER IS BUSY.PLEASE TRY BACK AGAIN LATER”, I can FINALLY POST THIS!!!

Yeah, its been kinda drama around here. I find it hard to believe some of the 360's people have done. One moment totally hating someone and the next, their best bud. Personally I have been out busy enjoying the summer weather and thought it to be a good time to take a leave of sorts from this site, just checking in here and there. Apparently I have missed something and find it a sad day that Endor98 has had enough and is packing it in. This site was a bit of a treasure back when I first found it, a tight knit group focussed on posting amazing pics of a classic toy line. Then the shizzit hit the fan one day due to a raffle of sorts and it was all down hill from there. But I guess to be realistic you gotta kind of expect the more people you have along for the ride the more confrontations are bound to come about. People are just getting to personable and are forgetting what this site started out as. A place for us to share our collections as well as our imagination. Sorry to hear you are pulling out but I hope to one day have the privilage of visiting and providing input on your own site. Good luck Frank and keep it real... :o

all of what you said is soooo true. ive been here almost a year and a half now, and i can tell like you, that n the last 6 months it has gone straight to hades. like you said, in the beginning this place had a lot of tolerance, now everything that is out of the way or even a lil bit graphic ( i remember my dreadnok pic with the playboy cover that had a bikini shot in it) gets blocked or deleted. some people on here now cant take it that someone likes some other persons pics better then there and more stuff gets started. thats just what takes the fun away, we cant really say anything without being blocked anymore, its like were tiptoeing around everyone and everything. i dont have anyone from here on msn or yahoo, i just like this place for what it was and really dont write much anymore, i never did write 20 things a day, that just seems like your trying to post to make it look like you do a lot on here. anyway frank, if your not already gone or you decide to take another look on here someday, if you ever come up with anymore dios, let me know somehow. i loved the dios you've done so far. it seems even as G.I. Joe maybe coming back, dios are ending. no more frank, sonneilon has been gone for awhile now, coming back from time to time. the guy at the inner sanctum and the guy at tims corner have slowed down. im not going yet, but like many others, if this place doesnt pick back up, some of the better guys come back then i myself may be leaving soon. no great loss as i said, i dont post a lot. i guess time will tell. good luck with the future frank. if i never see you on anywhere or whatever, thanx for both the letherneck and mainframe figures, advice, links to some good joes on ebay and the great dios.

Frank, I wish you'd reconsider because I'll miss you heaps man (especially that wicked sense of humour!), but I can understand your reasons for leaving. I sympathise with you to an extent, and no doubt everyone has their "crap tolerance" limit. I dislike the way the site has gone as well, but I try to ignore the childish behaviour and come here to enjoy the site as it's meant to be: a place for fans to post their work and to enjoy other people's work without getting into all the s#!t. I'm not going to let a few morons spoil that. There's still plenty of good people around here that make coming by Joedios worthwhile and fulfilling.
So farewell old buddy, enjoy whatever you get up to next, and DON'T EVER CHANGE!! ;) :(

Donna Summer... Who is she? I think it's a she... :p
I’m just tired. Tired of the fragile egos that need constant stroking, tired of people who can take neither compliment nor criticism, and tired of trying to help out only to be told what an ass I am. Like my dad said about hunting, “when it quit being fun, I quit”.
Aye it is off putting. There are some... interesting people with... interesting attitudes here, that's for sure and yes, some people have no clue how to conduct themselves either. The vast majority of people here are good people. It's those good people you come back for. This site once had an atmosphere like no other I've been on. I think it's still there... When the site isn't descending into chaos!
There are a lot of good people still on here. I just hope you can bring this site back to what it was when I came here a year ago. I hope you have a higher crap tolerance than I do. Don't let the.....uhm....."individuals" ruin it for you like they did for me!
Lately there have been many issues on here. A lot of which left me feeling annoyed and/or unhappy. Contemplating if I still wanted to contribute here, these issues largely having had nothing to do with me... I just didn't like the treatment some people were giving out to some members. Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the lack of tolerance here was disturbing to say the least. Over the past year I've found my self become very wary of certain people here. But this is a minority. The vast majority of members here are a fantastic bunch. I know if I needed help or advice or even just wanted to talk Joe a lot of people here would be happy to chat, most users here seem very approachable! That is such a great about this site. I have three chat listed on my profile. It's the same three I've had since I joined the site, I like to think I am approachable too.
I feel it is every members duty to try to preserve the atmosphere here. It doesn't take much to be friendly after all...
My stuff is packed and I'm bored
Stuff in boxes? I hear ya... I'm largely in the same situation... It did depresses me and it got to me for a while.... You may well be feeling the same... Your Joe's won't be in boxes forever... It only feels like it! :D
I suppose you have to go your own way... But think about it... don't let the minority spoil it for you all together... They were ripping the @rse out of the site for me too for a while between one thing and another and I mostly lurk... But I will not let them win... These a$$ Clowns won't beat me!
Don't let the Trolls waste it for you either Frank... So like... Totally stay... You can tell me who Donna Summer is...
I feel we all need to pull together and stop the rot that has been happening here for a while... I hope there are other members who feels the same?
Think about it Frank!?!?!?
Dave :D

I think we all need to ask that question. I've been coming here nearly everyday for about a year and a half now. I come to see the pics others have posted, and when my busy life allows, I even get to post a pic or two of my own. I love seeing what others do, and i like to be able to show my stuff to other who can appreciate it and comment on them. I'm very appreciative of all the feedback I've gotten. I look at this like a skill/ art. I want to get better and learn new techniques. I have really loved the how-to's that have been done. They're great.
I don't comment on other's photos as much as I probably should. I have to apologize for not participating in target range or the theme very much, but a full time job, a year old son, and wife in medical school keep me pretty busy. I also don't really talk to anyone from here on msn or email, and maybe that's why all this drama as of late hasn't really bothered me.
Since I started visiting the site, the amount of people posting photos has gotten much larger, but the quality has taken a hit. I have to sift more mud to find the gems these days.
I would kind of like to see a limit of three photos per day per person. I think that would prevent people from posting eight nearly identical photos that no one wants to see. If people want to post a series of eight shots they should use CBC and the diorama section. And maybe we could brainstorm ways to try and get us all to improve our skills. Maybe we could give out some monthly awards for the best shots or something.
What do the rest of you guys think?
You know things are bad when the old regulars are leaving. This ought to be a real wake-up call to the administration (I know it is to me when it happens on my sites); the flip side is that they can't take care of everything without running the place into the ground themselves.
Can't get away from trolls, man, particularly dedicated ones. The only way is to make the admins personally approve each new member, and that's a very gray area -- if your admins aren't active enough, new members never show up again because it takes too long to approve their accounts. Then, when they do review the newbs, it can be extremely hard to distinguish between good new members and trolls coming back for another round, particularly when they know they're being screened.
The overmoderation is something that's also problematic on a lot of forums, though that one can be fixed pretty easily... I've pondered commenting on it, but every time it comes to mind, the thread has been locked and a warning issued "not to dredge it up again." Scarlett, locking threads often is not the answer; it doesn't give people any closure or even the chance to discuss what happened.
I suppose I'm probably not active enough here for my opinions to be taken seriously, but that's what I think based on my experience -- and ender... man, the site will really lose out if you do in fact leave. :(

Ender, we never interacted much, but I've always enjoyed reading your often-opinionated but never dull posts, so you'll be missed.
However, I have to say this-- Every time someone posts that they're leaving this site forever, they list off their reasons, and I never, ever see that any of them have tried my favorite way of dealing with people I don't like or don't get along with-- Ignore them! Is it that hard to simply not read posts and PMs from someone you don't like?
Anyway, like I said, this isn't a question/statement directed at any one individual, but more for everyone who's left forever, and those who may still be planning to.

yeah, that has been on my mind for a long time, im sure it has others too. ive been here a year and a half and like you i dont give my opinion on every lil thing that comes so my opinion probably doesnt matter. then again when you have people who have been on 1/3 of what we have and have 7 thousand post. their really the ones whos opinion i never even look at. those who speak a lot really say nothing. i remember the good ol days when you never saw a blocked thread or whatnot. im more like self modifier, if its someone i dont like, i ignore them. if everyone ignores them they'll eventually leave.

It really is a shame that the childish behavior that has occurred on here has caused some of our best guys to leave. Here I thought I left this kind of stuff behind when I finished high school a little over a month ago. Well, Frank, I'll still be seeing you on MSN and can't wait til you get your own site up. Stay cool buddy.

I feel duty bound to step in and say something. Ender098 produces some of the best quality pictures and work on this site.. he can't go..
We can't make the decision for him.. however if his mind truly is made up and he is to leave the site then this would be a massive killing for this community..
We all need to make sure this doesn't happen. Theres no reason. Myself included why things shouldnt be brought back around to "normal"
this place has always had a strange atmosphere and wacky sense of humour.. I blame part of the communities demise for my own verbal outburst not so long ago.
However where would we All be if we didnt realise the errors of our ways.. and we truly are a close nit community as PHU pointed out "This site will lose out if you leave" those are words of truth.
So I call upon those reading to do something about it. What can we do as a community to make Frank aka Ender098 stay?
Lets leave him to make the decision himself. I've asked him to reconsider until sunday this week.. and I ask that at least WE all as a community stop the bickering and charge up the banter!
Be as active as you want and by all means post some pictures of your favourite joes. We need to turn this community round and fast. If Frank can see this community will change for the better.. I'm sure he'll have no reasons for leaving this sunday.
What do you say Ender? Will you give us until Sunday?

I'll begin askin' sorry for my english, but I can't stay out of this one. So to me, the real problem started when we needed a moderator (don't get me wrong G. and Gen. Scarlett). I'm here since 2005, had to change my nick once from ToneGuns to ToneGunsRevisited, 'cuz I reached my post pictures limit that was in 70mb. And I was here till 2006 with many friends and we didn't needed a moderator. We could play at the sand box without killing each other. Since them we have 2 moderators and things got always worst. I'm not saying the moderators are the guilty ones, I just making an statement that grew up guys can't play alone, man. What a shit are we?
A good friend said me in PM, to stay cool and people would be showing his real face here and they did. I'm really sad about Frank quiting, because he is my personal friend. I'll stay here, because I belive that the ones who aren't liked here will fall and reallity and leave. The people who are starting all this should leave. The little troll, he doesn't bother me. He is just a stupid small child and childs say and do stupid things al the time. The real problem are some "grew up" guys that are always trying to start a riot here. Go get a real life and a real fight, I think this is what they are needing.

oh so true. before sonn became moderator we didnt need one, we could handle things ourselves. even when he became moderator he really didnt have to try to keep things under control, we did that ourself. i think thats the problem, dont lock threads or whatever, just let us be the grown men we are. we were ok in the start without a mom or dad and i think thats what we need now. to be able to handle our own problems and not go running to someone to block a thread anytime a hurtful word is written. thats just running and not teaching us to handle stuff ourselves. like tonegun said, he doesnt bother me either. just let him do what he wanyts and everyone can let him know before he even ask that 'no, we are not going to give our joes away"

you know when i came on this site for the first time, and i saw all the pic and post, here i was in heaven ,this site is the one and only. you got hiss and cobra and all and those are cool, but not this site,
i even got my sister in this, and she loves it, ill admit i had my faults here, when i went head to head with rich, over duke, but that's over with, i don't hate rich for what he likes, then that troll thing, you know he has problems, we all have problems, but there's some of us that don't know how to handle those problems,
but away from all that i love the forms, wants & needs, Post Your Latest Gi Joe Booty,The Comic Box,'Weekend Warriors', that's my fav. and i like to post WHAT IF?, if this site could go back from when i first came in it will be like christmas all over again, :D

I'm sorry that I F*****D so many things up!! This is why I resisted joining forums for so long.........

Okay, you guys have got my German temper up.As has been said, don't take offense that isn't intended, but if the shoe fits.....
General Scarlett has been a hardworking friend to all of us! When I had a meltdown and quit the site, not only did she post asking me to come back( as many of you did ) she personally contacted me and talked me into rejoining because my presensce was valued. Now how do you think she feels now?Do you think she feels valued?
I'm not an expert at Forums, but I imagine that being an Admin is hard damned work! Clearing Spam, monitoring posts for content-more on that later!-and stuff that I'm sure I can't even imagine. And I somehow get the feeling that she isn't getting paid.....
GS has been a friend to everyone on this site, full of encouragement and advice-but sometimes she has to restrict content. We don't have "Free Speech" on a Moderated board that someone else owns-and remember,SOME things ARE inappropriate in a toy-based context, like reproductions of adult magazines....I personally read that mag,and I think it's classy and fun, with beautiful photography,it's not appropriate on a toy site where little Billy might spot it and ask his mommy "What's this?" Wait for the call from Hasbro's lawyers then!
And now the drama-I know a certain someone has driven many of us crazy,1 or 2 members in particular.....but we've let it harm this site, and harm the "fellow-feeling" of being Adults lucky enough to still be in love with our childhood favorites! I bounce around between several forums in a day.....and lately JD has had the feel of a shark pit,8-10 people on line and nobody posting a thread or anything.......are we burned out? Are we addicted to drama?Let me say,JoeBattleLines has been a LOT more fun lately.........
I don't know what to say about GS locking threads, except if any of us ever make Mod or Admin,we might have a different view........
I may have lost friends with this post. But I think General Scarlett is feeling like she's lost friends right now too.

She hasnt lost friends. I'm not against moderisation. I just wish we could all get back to posting threads we can contribute in without bickering.. posting up pictures we like to look at.. sharing ideas with each other.. and being helpful.
A few weeks ago GS summed everything up when she said to me "Hey rich, lifes too short you know?" and low and behold she was damn right.. Honestly.. Frank leaving is a massive deal.. and I don't expect this community to be proud of itself..
One thing we all need to do here is respect certain "Censored" media like the stuff that sometimes the board is spammed with will have to be deleted.. thats got to happen as you said Cap Max.. "we can't have billy asking about this to him mom"
For that I appreciate what Pru does.
I've said it once and I'll say it again I don't think moderisation is the problem. The problem appears to be that people are not focused on what they enjoy.. GIJOE!!

I agree.
Im fairly new here- so have both the advantage of objectivity, and the disadvantage of barely knowing the characters that regularly post here.
What I will say is this- I wouldnt be a mod or admin for any cash in the world.
Its a no win situation, especially when conflict arises.
Since Ive been a member here, Ive found the vast majority of you to be helpful and friendly.
Im aware there are several issues, and political battles going on which I cant- and frankly have no interest in trying to- comment on.
Two of the people who I felt made me feel most welcome were Frank and Pru.

You guys aren't here for long, listen, we did things always without having a mod here. I'm not saying old members are DA SHIT. I'm saying that a need for a mod appeared when the stupid child showed up first and started f*****k the place up. Than G. had to ask/received from Hammerfell the mod status.
Look, if people doesn't like your photos, or you don't get the coments you want. Do you really need to start a thread about that? If you ship something to get a good karma. Do you really need to start a thread 'cuz people didn't be greatful and liked your feets?
Geez guys and gals, don't change the whole subject here. We aren't trowing the problems over GS or over Graham. What people are trying to say is that we don't want everytime see a locked thread when bussiness are unfinished. Or ban people who always start stupid threads. Did peope out there listen about PM (my english is very poor, but PM means private message). Do your things in private, I don't have a need to know about "Why I didn't get my thankful?".
Pru, read all the coments with a calm mind. Your attitute now is the type of attitute who starts all that we don't want here. D R A M A ! We have to look to critisism with better eyes. People get just to fast inside the shoes, as your are saying.

THE ADVISE, THE TECHNIQUES AND INSPERATION I'VE GAINED FROM EVERY ONE HERE HAS BEEN UNMEASERABLE. ALL THE BICKERING HAS BEEN ALOT WORSE FOR OTHERS MORE THEN MYSELF I TRY TO JUMP IN ON THE FORUMS AND PROBLY SHOULD TRY MORE IN ORDER FOR YOU ALL TO KNOW ME AND VISE VERSA. I WOULD HATE FOR A GREAT PHOTOG AND VET TO LEAVE CAUSE IT WASNT ABOUT JOES OR THIS SITE. I DONT WANT TO LOSE THIS EXPERIANCE I SHARE IT WITH MY KIDS (WELL NOT THE BS FIGHTING) AND FAMILY AND FRIENDS.THEY SEE ALL THE QUALITY WORK AND THE COMMENTS ON MY FAVORITE SHOTS AND MY OWN. Actually Luis, I have been 'looking with better eyes' and I ALWAYS retain a 'calm mind', even when it seems that I've had enough (and I do know and understand everything you've said....we've had enough IM chats that you know I 'speak your English')
But apparently, I have been looking too well..........and everyone's pissed off about that.
So now I won't look anymore.........it's obvious that this is the way Frank and the rest of you in the 'regime' want me to act as an Admin.......
And far be it for me to d*ck with the 'powers that be'.........I wonder if anyone would care to know how often I've soothed egos and tried to placate flame wars and gone to bat for all the people who think that I'm a completely ignorant B*tch.......
More times than any of you know...........and no matter what ANYONE thinks, I've strived to be fair with everyone.......even when they think I'm not!
You guys aren't here for long, listen, we did things always without having a mod here. I'm not saying old members are DA SHIT. I'm saying that a need for a mod appeared when the stupid child showed up first and started f*****k the place up. Than G. had to ask/received from Hammerfell the mod status.

so true, i have been here a year and half as i said before. those who just joined this year do not know of how easy and fun it was around here. its easy to say this and that, but you werent around then. many have said its because there are so many new members now, that the newer members take 4 stars the wrong way and get mad. i dont know if thats true or not. im just saying when i joined i could come on here, look at all the great pics and feel like a kid again. i could post a few and if i got 2, 3 or 4 stars it was ok, it was just an honest opinion and i went on with my life. its hard for the newer member of this year to understand where were coming from.
in another note, what this thread is really about. frank if you ever read this, try this out. come on here, post a pic if you want, read some threads, look at some pics. just dont worry about writing or replying to anyone or anything. a few weeks ago i wrote on a thread that i had had enough of some things on here and wouldnt be posting much, not that i do as much as many of you anyway. but just steping back, stopping by once a day or every other day and just looking at the new pics and dios and reading some stuff without replying to anything helped a lot. just give it a try, no one ever need know you were here. Okay, let's get one thing straight here. Prudence is not to blame for any of this mess. Imagine how much worse it would be around here if she hadn't kept things under control. It's unfortunate that the site got to the point where a mod was needed, but that's life. I defy anyone to do a better job than G or Prudence have done, on their own time and for little thanks and plenty of abuse. Have they made mistakes? Maybe, but I'm sure they would be the first to admit it. We all make mistakes because we are all fallible humans.
As I've already stated in my earlier post, I hate it that Frank has decided to leave, and I've pm'd him with my thoughts and best wishes. I consider him a good buddy and want him to stay too. But Frank is an adult, and has made his own choice for his own reasons, and I respect that. I almost quit here myself once; but I realised I love the hobby, and the good people here too much to walk away. All we can do as responsible members is ignore the morons and enjoy the good stuff this site has to offer (and there's plenty of that). Oh, and howsabout we all show some respect to the Mods for the thankless task they do.

A lot of stuff has been bounced around in this thread. People have certainly expressed their opinions on more than just Frank deciding to leave. I'm curious to know the cause of all this drama. I don't post much, but I check this site everyday and I have been doing so for well over a year and the tone of the site has certainly changed in recent months. What's the cause of all this drama? You can't tell it was all that little retard trying to get free figures. There's a lot more to it than that. I've kind of been of the opinion that it just an influx of members. I was of the opinion that when we only had a dozen people posting stuff there wasn't a need to police anything, but now with several dozen people hanging around a moderator was necessary. But I'm starting to think there more to it than just more people. What do you guys who have been here awhile think?

I can't say that it is due to the newer members since honestly they pretty much seem to be the most polite and repectful members due to their new status. What the problem seems to be is that some verterans seem to take too much pride in their photos and when they don't get enough attention or the wrong comments, they take it as a direct insult and come up with consipiracy theories. Also some people seem to 'live' for this site more then just living in general. Their focus has been obscured.
As for General Scarlette, you have been performing a great job and I don't think you should take any comments here to heart and think we feel you are not needed. Take them as suggestions as to how the members would like the site to moded. The suggestions offered up dont' seem too outrageous. The main thing I got was that they would like the threads not to be locked too quick, give them a chance to work it out. :o
More times than any of you know...........and no matter what ANYONE thinks, I've strived to be fair with everyone.......even when they think I'm not!
now you listen here your not going anywheres now everyone needs to calm down........take a breath inhall.......exhall.......now...... scarlet you did a great job as mod here theres no reason for you to leave..... from what i could tell the forums was running pretty smooth......but we need you scarlet please don't leave i got it! i just come sit on you where you won't leave ;)

im starting to think that were doing the exact thing that made him leave. not acting like the G.I. Joe play pals we used to. were bringing up more and more issues, which i guess says that we have a lot that we need to get out in the air, but its not really what this thread is about.

When i first joined, i was a little uneasy of being the teen on a site where alot of adults roamed. Mr. Frank was one of the first people to welcome me, and i value him as a friend. i really wish he would come back before he gets shipped off to Iraq in January. Please sir, COME BACK!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
Scarlett, cool off. Reacting like that to a little criticism is counterproductive, and doesn't speak volumes for your 'calm mind.'
I pitched in on the overmoderation charge -- with good reason -- but I think a few people have the mistaken impression that moderation is a negative thing or that it wasn't a good idea. Once a forum reaches a certain size, it's certainly necessary, and I think that happened here a while ago.
However, things like your overly emotional outburst here and in very many of the threads you've locked do no good. I've been administering forums for the better part of a decade, and the best mods are those with little to no personal investment in the forum. It's not easy to find people like that, particularly when a forum is smaller, so those of us who do end up in that position need to work VERY hard to keep ourselves calm.
It is work -- thankless work -- but when you choose to accept that responsibility, you need to understand that your responsibility is to monitor rule violations, NOT to impose whatever social guidelines you consider best.

Did ANY of you take a moment to think that MAYBE if you've got a difference in opinion with GS or any Mod-you should take it off-line and do it in PRIVATE?!? That MAYBE that's why feelings are hurt?

I'm sorry that you or anyone thought that I was being 'overly emotional' with my posts.........but even though I KNOW your comment was meant to be a 'dispersion', to me, it's skirting a polite way of saying 'stop being such an overreactive woman'...........
Let's look at what the facts are, shall we??? I lock threads for two reasons.
1) They are becoming counterproductive and dissolving into petty chaos.....and I joined 'JoeDios', not 'Soap Operas 'r' Us'
2) I have been PM'ed, IM'ed, blatantly 'called out' for not stopping it sooner or at the very least 'moderating' it in a more productive and equal fashion. Or I recieve all of the above......and no matter what way I turn, I'm still wrong.
Now don't think that I'm 'freaking out' like all women MUST do.......I may not have been in the 'admin' job online for long, but I do Mod at 5 different sites, and I'm raising a teenager and I hold rather prominent positions in not only my church, but the Boy Scouts of America.....
So, I can assure you all that even when it seems like I'm 'overreacting'........I haven't even gotten past '1' on my 'freak dial'
And my 'outburst' was a direct result of so many people jumping on the bandwagon to beg Frank not to leave, when not everyone has all the facts........
I know that some of you think this is a 'boys club', and perhaps I have no business here, but I can assure you that this thought can't be further from the truth.
I'm just stating that I'll 'loosen the reigns'........and let's see where the horses take us..........down the path, or over the cliff. And since I'm proud of myself, my collection and the story I want to tell, so I guess you'll have to put up with me.....
As for Frank, I thought I knew where he and I stood friendship-wise.....but even I can admit when I'm wrong.........and for that I'm sorry as well........
Take good care Frank............
Persecution complex much? Wow.
........but even though I KNOW your comment was meant to be a 'dispersion', to me, it's skirting a polite way of saying 'stop being such an overreactive woman'...........
You can stow that crap, because I'm not sexist, and I'm not going to be painted that way. If you can't interact with the 'boys club' without whining about imagined discrimination, you should just keep your BS to yourself. I'm sure most of us would be a LOT harder on you if you WERE male. I have zero respect for this kind of "boo hoo why me, oh all men are out to get me" attitude, so it's a good thing you don't need any stupid man's approval, right? Right?
If your life is so difficult, perhaps you should consider not taking it out on us. By all means, turn your 'freak dial' all the way up if it'll help you cope. That's what we're here for, apparently.
You're obviously incapable of looking at this objectively (OMG THAT MUST HAVE BEEN SEXIST BECAUSE YOU'RE FEMALE!), so I guess I'll just stop. Lightening up would be a GOOD idea.
[ edit: Consider that none of this was even an issue when Fel or Sonneilon were running things... you do the math ]

Hey Phu-if you are so damned insightful, why don't YOU e-mail Hammerfel and offer to become the Admin? It sounds like you are the f*****g expert anyway!
GS is the ADMIN.She has EVERY right to DEMAND that our behavior conforms to her standards.WE do not own this board. I'm sure she doesn't need my help, but I'm getting sick of yours and some other guys attitudes! It seems like a lot of guys are real tough on-line.....I still wonder why you guys don't take this to PM.....
General Scarlett
07-11-2007, 08:38 PM
Ahhhh...I see.
So it's alright for all the 'guys' to play out their drama, but my opinion means that I have 'male issues'..............
Whatever you have to do man, play on. I don't need to justify myself. And I wasn't 'begging for approval'. I was just stating my point of view.......
But if it's better for you, we can choose to not interact. Maybe the others on this site who can't do that will take note.

Can't anyone else see the irony here? Some people are reacting in the exact manner they are accusing GS of behaving in, namely being over emotional and applying their standards to others. I didn't want Frank to leave either, but that was just me being selfish because I consider Frank a buddy. As Prudence said, most of us are not in possession of the full story behind his decision (and that includes me). Don't forget Frank made his own choice when he left, and for his own reasons; he wasn't kicked off or banned. As I've already said, everyone should respect Frank's choice whether we agree with it or not, and stop trying to play the blame game. We should also ALL respect the Mods and each other, it's the only way this site will regain the friendly atmosphere that used to be the norm here.

We all need to pull together instead of laying down blame.
I've been here over two years now and I haven't known anything like the crap that has happened recently.
There must be something we can do to try and turn this around...
I care too much about this site than to see it end up this way and have members leave. This site gave me a place to showcase my pictures and improve and get help from others with the same interests... For nothing... Just like every other member here.
I feel a duty to try and give something back in return...
There must be something we can do to retain some stability and end the bickering?!?!?!?
C'mon people let's pull this back? Like others have said... Let's get back to the way this place used to be and end the infighting?
I don't want to see people leave... Or people make private problems/disputes public... Or be disrespectful to others, even if the people dishing it out think they are being funny... Or hit perfectly good S6 pictures with 1 ratings, I hate S6 but doing that is just low... It's not what this place is for? All of those things are needless and completely avoidable.
Let's make this place great again?
