I've got a toxo-lab I want to use in a dio some time soon. I hate the purple and neon green colors, and I would like to paint it more realistic colors. But, its kind of a unique and rare item, and it just seems kind of wrong to paint it. What do you guys think?

honestly, i think more then once about painting anything. i regret doing some of my older stuff, now when i do paint anything, even if its VvsV which arent rare i do so without a finish so i can always just scrap it off. i honestly dont think i would do it.
*yo muscles, I fixed it for ye.

If I had the time, I would paint a TON of stuff I have. I suggest do it cuz in the end, it'll look better. EVEN if you decide to display it in a static dio (one that won't be touched again), it'll look better. Look at Outrider's stuff. He just adds touches here and there and suddenly, it's 100x better. If you can make it look tight, all the better. But if you are like most people, just slapping a coat of paint won't do the trick. You should check out the gamesworkshop or forgeworld.co.uk sites to see what can REALLY be done w/ dio pieces. They're so good, they make us look like 8 yr olds pretending to paint.

I would not hesitate to paint it, but I guess you probably knew that anyway... If you're not happy with how something looks, then change it. Being unique or rare makes no difference to me, as I would never sell my Joes anyway, so the alleged monetary value of an item means nothing to me.

I am with Craig on this one, make it truly your own and make it look how you want it to look. Don't let the neon 90's dominate your way of thinking just because it is a rare piece. Paint it darker, with more fitting colors.

Paint isn't that permanent after all. This hobby shop guy was telling me how paint can be taken off with Windex, who knew.
Though that's with Acrylic though not enamel, thought I should add that.

I wouldn't paint it. But I am a collector more so then a hobbiest or customizer. If you value the $$ of the item's worth then I would leave it be....
