Default Nightwolf Military Operations Vehicle Kickstarter

Not something I'm all that interested in (seems more 1:18 than 3 3/4" compatible) but just to spread interest...

No one reads these forums.

I ran into that project somewhere. It looks a lot like a mashup of the PoC VAMP and the Lanard CORPS ATK. Not bad at all, but kindof generic. When I buy a PTE Humvee, it's recognizably generic, so fitting into a toy collection isn't a problem. Something with a Rise of Cobra aesthetic is going to be more difficult, including fitting in with Rise of Cobra era GI Joes. But with greatly reduced 1:18 offerings from toy companies, it's cool to see people doing projects like this.

Not looking like it's gonna make funding. Just over a third there with 11 days to go.

I will say that I don't think they've done a good job getting the word out. Unless the creators joined 25 different GIJoe Facebook groups I'm not a member of and constantly bombed the feeds, I only heard about it once in Instagram and here. It's weird to me that it seems like there are more toy collectors than ever, but the "communities" are scattered all over. Everyone wants to moderate their own group, and as a result, there isn't one place you go for camaraderie, so it's hard to promote a fan-driven project unless you're already on his buddies' group feed.

I also got lanard vibes from this. Ive found that Im going to Acid Rain and JoyToy for new figures and vehicles and MECHS. They are simply incredible.

Same thing happened with Sectaurs wave 2 and that's doomed that revival it seems. That and the stuff was too expensive for people with moderate interest (like me). That's what's making or breaking these kickstarters and preorders. There has to be a fan base willing to pay $$$ for it or they can forget it.
