Cobra de Aço: it was only a matter of time. But repacking Python Vipers/TeleVipers seems kindof a bummer for the price. Glad I only collect ARAH! :D

actualy they're not repacking them. the original Python televiper that was made was a one off test sample . those never made it to stores and the Trooper they mention is the basic Cobra Officer figure recolored to the Python scheme. mainly cuz Hasbro made Trooper officers but no Troopers to command I never got why for PYthon patrol the trooper mold was used for the officer and the officer mold for the trooper? and the Python Vipers only came as Pilots (which sucked cuz they are awesome figures)

If the story I heard is true, it was a mix-up at Hasbro.

Awesome post 777 :D

I wondered the same thing, I thought maybe it was another effort to confuse the enemy since the whole sub team was supposed to be stealth and all that.

The 25th fans will be happy. Sounds boring to me. RIP arah style convention sets, you had so much untapped potential.

Hate to say it BUT..........how can there be SO much potential if Hasbro is trashing the molds to begin with? The molds are basically TRASH so can't make potential without the club making their own molds for a body which we know they'd charge WAY more than triple for. Their prices keep going UP and UP as it is.

There were plenty of undamaged molds that still could have been used. They were not all "trashed". I think Hasbro exaggerated about the molds.

I don't see why the club had a ONLY ONE STYLE policy for the past few years. They could've done the main set in one style and the "souvenirs" in another, offered everything but the attendee bonus online to non-attendees. But that requires "effort" and actually being in touch with the fanbase.

The Con set sounds uninspired. Only 2 Joes in the mix that haven't seen 25th style release (3 if you include Dialtone, whom the club is also making their membership figure), some easy Cobra repaints, and a foreign Cobra character that a lot of people would think was lame if his o-ring version had seen mass retail release in the USA.

HoneSTLY THE ONLY REson I joined the club was for the oportunity for the classic O'ring style figures so for the club to say they are going another way is heart breaking I will not be rejoininng the club . :(

I do feel sad that out O-ring brethern can't avail of these in o-ring form .that does suck .

btw just throwing this out there anyone with a CC membership who's a ARAH fan and doesn't want the 25th dialtone figure thats on the way can I sang him off ye ? pm me please cheers

Yeah, I feel some of the pain on here. I quit the club in 2009 when they did the Crimson Strike in 25th mold because I was ARAH holdout. But as I got more and more 25th Characters, I looked forward to the next set and WHAM! "Vacation in the Shadows" was an ARAH set!

I'm glad they are going to one style, but some of you are right...they SHOULD offer both. But again, it comes to money! They are NOT massed Produced like the 25th and ROC figures, so they have a limited run and Hasbro doesn't want to waste money storing ARAH molds for a run of 1,000 once a year! It's sad, but I think we have seen the last of the ARAH figures.....

As for the new CON set, I can't wait! One of my FAVORITE sets from my childhood was Special Missions Brazil!

I had the wrong idea about what they were doing. With the close to accurate updates they did with the 2009 3 pack and 2 pack and blades, and seeing how accurate the PP Trooper was, I thought they were going to do these guys in their 80's brazil colors. I was disappointed when it became obvious they're not. As just some generic con set, it isn't bad, but compared to what it could have been as a special mission brazil set in modern articulation, major fail. Mainframe and the televiper needed their 80's backpacks too. And the camera/gun.

I didn't think too much of these guys when they first came out as O-rings, but I like this set, especially Wet Suit and Claymore. It would be neat if thys had their original markings, but that tan shirt, red pants Mainframe was hidious.
I think I'd actually shell out the $$$ for this set.

Isn't that what MOST customizers call lazy boy customs? The Con people are TOO cheap to make NEW molds and design their own stuff. So they use what is out and recolor it and we get what we get. The molds are on loan from Hasbro so they get what they can.

Funny they made a figure of Wet Suit not wearing his wet suit. That's a fig I've been planning (in RAH form) for a while now. I wouldn't have chosen that head, though. Seems like Sparta (Cover Girl) could've been better.

roguetiger

And another thing...they are CHARGING to register online $6 OR $25 to fax in the order..... I SO think he's hoping it fails here soon so he can sell it or thinking he's going to keep making more and more money by continuously raising the prices... 25th to SAVE money...only to keep raising the prices....= more money in his pocket.

what a bunch of crappy figures. Wet suit was ok at best. I wont even waste a minute wishing I could get these.
