It was a Cub Scout event. We camped out under the wing of an F-4 Phantom jet! I got about an hour's sleep, but it ROCKED! We both had a great time, especially on the tour. :)

Thanks for sharing Nate! Very cool. I remember having fun going to an airshow with my Dad, but this is another level entirely. It looks like you were able to get a very firsthand experience with the aircraft and the ship. Excellent. Glad you guys had a great time!

Outstanding! Is that something the general public could arrange, or was it a special service for the 100 Scouts event?

Thanks all!

I'm not sure, cyko. It might be just something for large youth organizations, of which Scouts is one of the biggest. Even with 500 of us there, tickets were still like $80 per person, so that's $40,000 it ticket sales for one night... Quite an expensive camp site! :)

It's an annual camp out, though. We just got lucky and happened to join Scouts during the 100th anniversary.

Very cool 'Fel!! We did a similar campout at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA back when my (now 17yo- ) was in the Cub Scouts. I remember the boys were having so much fun, but I suspect that the parents were having just as much fun.....it was one time when my 'G.I. Joe' font of knowledge worked to my advantage :p :D
