Ok,
Doesn't take a genius to figure out what this thread is about, every week I'm asking people to throw in their recommendations for what they are currently listening to.

Please dont reply to peoples flavours or tastes and insult their choice of song.. lets keep it friendly.. I know music can inspire and of course without new recommendations by friends it becomes boring listening to the same songs.

I'll start us off.. on my media player at the minute is:

Crossfade - Tracks called Starless, Colors, So Far Away, No Giving Up & Cold
Hardcore Superstar - Shame, Honey Tongue

Badgering or insulting posts towards peoples tracks or taste in music will result in me mailing some selected Elbuss Plants or Spores to the individual responsible. ;)

well lately I've been listening to different christmas songs that way I'll be in the christmas spirit earlier and it helps me since my grandfather died on new years day so thanks giving and christmas is all I have to look forward too. anyways off on my own little rant lol..... when I'm not listening to christmas music its probably a mix of punk rock, punk pop... like all-american-rejects and blink-182 on a mixed cd, and other bands of that nature. oh and by the way good taste in music NEF nice songs good choice :D

Classic Rock! AC/DC, Queen, Styx, The Who, etc. Three Doors down, Three Days Grace.... some other stuff i can't put band names too.......(And no rap! rap is what, in my opinion, ruined my generation. all i hear at school is: "Gangsta this, Gangsta that. F--- you n-----! seriously, it rots your brain!) now the classics, they cool you down.

Lately, with Casino Royale's debut in theaters and the Bond marathon on Spike TV, I've been listening to my James Bond soundtrack albums. Mainly From Russia With Love, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, and The Man With the Golden Gun.

Yeah, I'm kinda lame. My music tastes lean towards instrumental stuff and movie/tv soundtracks/scores.

Though I do own my share of hard rock material. It just doesn't get played all that often.

Yeah. Even though I'm black that rap rots your brain. But occasionally I listen to it. I have Timberland and nelly their best song Promiscuous. Classical, Rock, Country, everything! I don't really like metal. I think its for torturing enemy soldiers in war. But I respect you if you like it.

i gotta tell ya Ranger, you are a rare case near me. every time i turn on the classic/ modern rock, they all howl in pain. it's really quite amusing. :D and yeah, i can't stand metal either. it's on of the interrigator's favorite form of torture. ;)

I have 6 playlists on the computer in which, 3 are on the 1 gb mp3 player.

PlayList01 is my heavy metal mix. Cradle of Filth, Metallica, Maiden, System of a Down, Korn, Misfits, etc.

PlayList02 is my Iron Maiden mix. I haven't reworked it to include stuff from their latest album.

PlayList06 is my radio mix. Uhmmmmm, I've found that I can't do cardio workouts very well under the metal playlists so I created something more 'fun' (you can call it fruity if you want). Pink, Aguilera, BeeGees, Abba, tons of 80s singles, and a lot of stuff that most people won't admit to. Shane has a slight idea of what's actually on there.

PlayList03 should be the Metallica mix.

PlayList04 should be the glam/hair band stuff. Mainly Motley Crue, Def Leopard and Poison w/ Darkness, Cinderella and Skid Row mixed in.

PlayList05 is Emi's music mix for when we take long car rides.

With me, it's always either fighting game music (Tekken, Street Fighter and King Of Fighters especially) or Japanese rock.
I do listen to some Peter Gabriel, Our Lady Peace and Gorillaz every now and then too.

I've gotten hooked on the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, and I've found the ULTIMATE Christmas album; A Twisted Christmas by Twisted Sister. Chorals the way they should be, with 2 min long guitar solos in em!

I'm going to say something that will be very unpopular, but Red Hot Chili Peppers? Is the end coming? Sorry. I know I'm not the most musically savvy. I just have never had any use for the Chili Peppers. They actually annoy me. I admit though that I'm somewhat musically limited...Classic Jazz (Theonius Monk), Film and Game Soundtracks (Conan the Librarian...er...Barbarian, Halo etc.), anything 80's, some classic rock. That Twisted Sister Christmas album sounds intriguing.

I have to disagree that RAP rots your brain. I personally can't stand that stuff, but in the '80's they said Heavy Metal rotted our brains and Religious groups called it "The Devils Music" and went apeshit trying to prove it, even playing Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" backwards claiming you could hear "Satan" and "My Sweet Satan" on there! I LOVED metal, until the split when you got the "Bubble Gum Rockers" (Winger, Warrant, Dokken) singing ballads to lovesick highschool girls and the other Bunch (MegaDeath, Slayer) who played one chord over and over screaming indiscernibly and called it "Speed Metal"! I Loved the Music, but I never fell for the "You have to Worship Satan to listen" thing! That's stupid. It was just music. It spoke to me and let me know I wasn't the only "loner" who ever felt what I was feeling. I was just a typical teenager going through what all adolescence go through!

Yeah, I hate rap and the idea it glamourizes "Thug" lifestyle. But ya know what? If they wanna be the next Biggie or Tu Pac, let 'em. You see where Biggie and Tu Pac are? It's called Darwinian Evolution. The dumb thugs kill each other off and the ones smart enough to know better than to spend $10,000 on clothes and gold jewelry, live on and the human race as a species gets smarter and thus stronger!

As for what I listen to, a little of everything, but nothing too fringe. If you look at my MP3's you'll See Beethoven and Ice-T. Johnny Cash and She Wants Revenge. I don't go by the group anymore, I go by the song.

The funny thing is if you play the words "Jesus Loves me" backwards, it sounds like "We Smell Sausage"! Really! Look it up! Some places out there have MP3's of it! It's funny as hell! LOL!

I'm with you Mobius, give me some classic rock any day of the week. Anything from VH, ACDC, Led Zep. I have been on a kick listening to George Thorogood's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer" which is interesting since I don't drink, but it is a cool song.

My mum recently got their Ocean Drive album to listen to in her car. She plays "Lifted" over and over and over and over... I think she'd had it a week or two, playing it on her daily commute, and it wasn't until I was going somewhere with her at the weekend that she actually let it play end heard the rest of the tracks!

I'm more of an 80's music fan.....you know when MTV actually spent all day playing music videos of all styles.
I perfer heavy metal, but I'm open minded to a lot of different music. I like a lot of what's out today too. That's the one thing I miss about Syracuse, NY there's a station that plays 60, 70, 80 and 90 along with today's music. Then you had Nights with Alice Cooper. Great stuff, but being out here in Dayton, OH I can't find a decent station and there is no Nights with Alice Cooper.

Blowtorch MTV sucks.. all day they play actual programmes and no music.. I can see from the program listing they play programmes now instead and around 2AM put on something called MTV Playlist which is the music.. ideal really if your an Insomniac and can't sleep but what about those that want actual music during the day?
I am into 80s music too, one of my fave tracks is Poison by Alice Cooper.

I know MTV sucks, but during the 80's they actually played music videos. I know this my be hard to believe. Dude you like Cooper too! Sweet. I don't know if you ever heard Nights with Alice Cooper. He host a radio show and plays all kinda of tunes. Now if I want to watch heavy metal videos I watch Metal Mania.

I still remember the first MTV Music Awards show...........

When INXS won and Jon Farriss leaned into th mic and simply stated, "What the hell does this little silver spaceman have to do with anything???"

I do miss my MTV...............the days of waiting and waiting just to see that one awesome song.........and then trying to figure out how long before it would 'cycle' around again...........

Good times indeed......

My dad is a big Alice Cooper fan........and was almost like a prepubescent teen again when he met A.C. back about 10 years ago......he's got the pic of them together and the autograph framed and out in his 'clubhouse' aka the garage.....

Right now I'm listening to Streetlight Manifesto's "Everything Goes Numb" album. I listen to an eclectic mix, pretty much whatever sounds good to me. Hard to argue with the classic rock bands like the Who, Zepplin, Beatles, Stones etc. I'll listen to most any genre, including rap especially if it well thought out and isn't totally commercialized, but the one thing I can't get into is country. Just doesn't sound good to my ear.
