So I'm very new to this site.I'm gonna try to start making a lab for Dr.Lewis.So I wanted to ask I know there is sticker paper for printers. But for the chairs and computer stuff and boxes. Is there like a harder cardboard type paper for them?

Welcome.
There is a paper called Matte thats a little thicker than normal paper you could use.In the file section here are great print outs done by members here for all of us to share and use.
The better set builders could give you a better hand at helping you than I could. They should get around to comment on this thread later.

Can't wait to see what the Lab is going to look like.

I use matte paper but I think i'm going to switch to card stock it's a little cheaper, mount it on foam core board makes it sturdy, plus with a little imagination you can make tons of set pieces from foam core!

I honestly use Card stock paper. Its a little thicker than regular paper and bends nicely for when I am printing. For the walls I use card board for sets that are just a couple of walls and floor like here.

has anyone tried using wood and just glueing the items in the wood? Example: making the GI Joe crate by printing the pattern from this website then glueing it onto a piece of wood that is sized to match the paper (GI Joe crate) to scale.

Smart man.
I usually prefer foamboard. But when dealing with with chairs and stuff you should probably go with a lighter and more flexible type of board or paper.

I only have an ink jet printer so when I print the files for final, I go to kinkos and have them print the files out on 32lbs paper. It is a bit thicker. Laser printing is the way to go! Pictures/ documents printed on inkjet will run if they get moisture on them.

A technique that I used to create walls was to take the wall sections and glue them to foamcore board with 3M adhesive spray. I don't use sissors to cut them out, I use a brand new razor blade and a straight edge.

Good luck and welcome!

I considered that but had difficulty getting the right sizing and just used card stock and hot glue to crank a bunch out. As long as you use the right glue like a stick or something so it doesnt soak it then you should be fine if the wood has a course surface.
